From reading their letter in the application they sent, it sounds like they have definitely committed themselves to putting on a quality show. Since the NGA sent out the 2001 schedule, I've had my sights set on this bodybuilding contest.

I've attempted three shows the past few years that were pro-qualifiers. To my misfortune, I've come up just short of winning the overall twice to advance on to pro shows. So, maybe with some dieting adjustments I can take care of business in Utah.
My plan is to only diet 7 days. That's right, seven! I trained all winter incorporating heavy deadlifts - something I have not done before. I used a lifting belt for my lower back and reached sets of 6-8 reps with 375 lbs. and reps of 2-4 at 405 lbs.
I'm holding my weight at about 178 lbs., and with a day of cutting water, I will most likely be at the top of middleweights (172¼ lbs). Bodybuilding.com has been generous enough to allow me to use some of their effective products.
Look for Lance Sganzini and myself working out live on this site. We've both been pushing each other to the next level. Lance is gearing up for the NW Natural, June 2nd in Boise, ID - a pro qualifier, as well!
