Question Of The Week
98% Supplements = Useless?
Alright, so this isn't exactly a thread that is about any one specific supplement, but I think it's important that everyone read this one. There are a lot of skeptics out there; people who keep asking themselves if 'taking supplements is really worth it?' We obviously can't answer that for you nor can anyone else.
Supplementation can get right expensive and some people just can't afford to supplement year round. One case was 'kibslib' and he's out looking for comments from people like you. What are your experiences without supplementation? Would you ever consider living without supplements if you haven't already?
A lot of people believe that supplementation is necessary for good gains, and for the majority of middle class citizens, this is probably true. Not everyone can get a solid 5-7 meals a day with work and school. Check it out here - it's a good read.
Supplement Thread Of The Week
Anyone that watched The Ultimate Fighter or UFC will recognize the name Xyience. It's been drilled into our head by the commentators that this fight has been brought to us by Xyience - extreme supplements. My mother always told me not to trust ads. For once, I listened.
Are Xyience products what there cracked up to be? Or is this UFC business a load of corporate sh*t? 'batistabomb' had the same question and is looking for some answers. I probably will never buy their products, but that's just me. You can check out the thread here and see if Xyience products are worth buying from the people you trust the most.

A Call Out To Companies
This one is way off the boards again. Short but sweet; this thread just might save you from buying a bullsh*t product. 'dito' has asked company representatives to post certificates of authenticity for their products. Personally, I think it's about time someone asked that.
Real Certificate Of Analysis?
It never really crossed my mind but now I'm not sure why I didn't demand that in the first place. Anyway, check out who posted them and who didn't here. Remember, you have the right to supplement with quality stuff - especially since you're paying an arm and a leg for it.
Nutrition Thread Of The Week
350 Grams Of Protein Seems Insane To Try To Ingest Every Day...
So you're having trouble getting in all that protein? Well fear not! There are others like you out there. There was a great thread posted started by 'GeorgeM' regarding his problem of not getting enough protein and feeling sick. Personally, I get the worst gas from eating lots of protein but I never feel nauseous, but that's just me.
Our boy George here seems to feel a bit sick from too much of the good stuff and needs some help. If you have any tips for him, please check out this thread and lend him a helping hand.
Scientific Thread Of The Week
New Twist On Placebo Effect
The mind is a powerful thing. It is capable of doing some pretty incredible things like making you think you can lift more just because you're taking some supplement. There are many people that will argue to the validity of some products on the market and claim that the placebo effect can be attributed to most, if not all, supplements on the market today.(PDF) Neurobiological Mechanisms of the Placebo Effect (553 KB)
This thread is about a study that was done regarding the placebo effect and how it can be attributed to our everyday lives. I'd really like to thank 'ScrillaKeith' for this one as it's probably one of the most interesting reads in a while.
Argument Of The Week
This week I'd like to point you all in the direction of a great thread that argues genetics. Are they the main factor in bodybuilding or is it minor? I personally think that genetics play a huge role in how fast your body develops, but that's just me and my educated self.
How, the thread can be found here and you'll find 'hardestgainer' sharing his problem with gaining and his question regarding the role of genetics in weight lifting. There are a few people playing the devil's advocate in this thread. Check it you and you be the judge.
