Why I Got Started
I didn't recognize the girl in the mirror anymore. I was in denial that it was me looking that miserable! I started taking Xenadrine RFA-1 and walking.
Soon, walking led to some jogging and before long I was jogging about 3 miles per day. The more exercising I did the more addicted I became. I was obsessed!
How I Did It
I pushed myself a little more every day. If I could only jog 3/10ths of a mile, I pushed for 4/10ths the next day. Then I started pushing for time - how long could I stay jogging at 5 mph for? Then I started getting compliments and that fueled my desire!
I started to learn about foods and compared everything I ate to how long it would take to jog it off. I realized all the butterfinger bars were not worth it. I also work night shift in the Emergency Room so trying to maintain a normal diet and workout routine was challenging!
I walked, jogged, and sprinted. I made sure to hit the pavement 5 days per week even in the freezing cold weather. Nothing could hold me back from my desire to be fit! If it came down to weather that I absolutely couldn't go out in then I would run on the treadmill at home.
Suggestions For Others
Take your hands off the side of the treadmill or elliptical. Push yourself! Just when you think you can't do anymore reach deep down inside and go just a little bit further. It's amazing what you can convince yourself to do when the end result is worth every drop of sweat.
There will be jealous people so gloat to those who will support your amazing changes. If someone you know wants to get started, give them advice and direct them to Bodybuilding.com!
