What could be better than a device where you simply dump in the ingredients and it does everything for you? That's the magic of the slow cooker. You may have grown up on some very unhealthy cuisine prepared in this device, but where it really shines is in making simple, healthy recipes packed with protein.

Easy Slow-Cooker Chicken

Meal Plan Header

Chicken breast: 4

Low-sodium chicken stock: 1 can

Smoked paprika: 2 pinches

Mrs. Dash (and any other seasoning you like) 2 pinches

  1. Place chicken breasts in slow cooker and add just enough broth to cover them. Add seasoning, and turn on low.
  2. Let it cook for 4-6 hours, but preferably 6. Turn the slow cooker off and let it cool down, then use forks to shred chicken breast inside the cooker. Alternately, you can just toss it into a mixer with a paddle attachment.
