Dan Gaffke's Inspiration And Motivation
My inspiration was really that I was just sick of being in denial about my body. I was sick of having to figure out what I could wear by what I could button up. I was sick of having heartburn and feeling nasty after yet another huge meal.
When I saw the transformation challenge on Bodybuilding.com, it was perfect timing. It was the week of Christmas, and I was in the middle of my normal holiday binge-eating marathon. But really, I just wanted to be in shape again and not be embarrassed to take my shirt off.
The fact that I had to take and post progress pictures on the site during the 12-week challenge held me accountable for the first time in a long time. My workouts were much higher intensity and my cardio was not blown off with the intent of doing it tomorrow.
When I started to see changes in my body it only cemented the fact that I not only wanted to complete this challenge, but to see how far I could take my transformation. Now that I have the body I've always wanted, I intend to keep it.
