Iron Man Magazine's
BodySpace Physique Of The Month: SuperVic2007
I must tell you that I was really interested in talking with Victor Newsom because I wanted to find out how a guy, married with 4 kids at home, a senior executive at a good size company, and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, finds the time to get to the gym, stay in shape and become one of the top transformations on BodySpace at BodyBuilding.com. Well I found out.
First he owes a lot to his wife Kim, also on BodySpace as 'VicsAngelKim' who is also on this fitness journey in life with him. But then I can sum it up in three things... Motivation, Organization and Consideration! I think you could always call Vic an achiever. As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1989, Vic spent his time in the Navy working in nuclear power, and had the honor of serving at the launch of the USS Maryland, an Ohio Class Submarine. He was also on the Judo team at Annapolis which led him further into the discipline of martial arts.
After the Navy, Vic married Kim, started a family and worked in the family business but ultimately he has now found a home as the Chief Operations Officer at ECommLink, an electronic pre-paid debit processing company. Located in Las Vegas, Vic and his family have embraced a lifestyle of doing as opposed to other people who spend time talking about what other people are doing. The entire family spends time together hiking, traveling, even if it just day trips, and exploring. And both Vic and Kim are devoted to the gym although it is on different schedules.

Doing As Opposed To Just Talking About Doing.
This is the consideration part; Vic and Kim both understand each other schedules and what it takes to get to the gym. Vic sometimes twice per day, in the morning for cardio and then after work for some lifting. Kim, as a full time Mom, gets to the gym after the kids are off to school. But there is another consideration, the one that Vic has with work. ECommLink gives him the trust to get his work done even when he must adjust his schedule to get to his workouts. And the reverse consideration is that Vic gives his job his upmost attention to get things done in return.

The organization part is something you would almost expect from a Chief Operations Officer. His diet is laid out on a spread sheet allowing him to make continuing computer entries. Vic knows how many calories of what are good for any meal at any time for any day, even the rest of the day ahead of him. Actually it is organization that got Vic into BodySpace. He was looking for a way to do tracking, journaling and goal setting and it was all there on BodySpace, ready to go, even with graphical presentations. An organizational dream!
