[ Q ] What is your name, where are you from, and how old are you?
My name is Steve Poynter, I am 32 years old, and I was born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky and to this date, this is where I still call home.
[ Q ] How long have you been visiting Bodybuilding.com and using BodySpace, how did you find out about it, and have you met any BodySpace members in person?
I have been an avid user of Bodybuilding.com and Bodyspace since 2004. I find myself going to this site on a daily basis as there is no other site online that can bring you so much motivation. Where else can you go and find live people who have made insane changes with their physiques? You really can't, so this is why this site is so addictive to those who are heavily interested in fitness and changing their life with it.
Not only do I use the site for motivation, I visit the bodybuilding.com store once a month to load up on supplements. I order from bodybuilding.com because of the "can't beat" pricing that is accompanied by insanely fast shipping. Since joining bodyspace, I have had the great pleasure in meeting several bodyspace members.
I go to the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio every year, it is there that I run into a lot of members . I must say it is always an honor to meet fellow members who are very inspiring.
A few members I have met are as follows:
- Ben Booker
- Jamie Eason
- And as many of you know, I have really strong ties with Beautifulgrace
Those are a few I have met, there are many more than that and I intend to meet more this coming year at the Arnold.

[ Q ] What do you do for a living, and what made you decide to get yourself into such great shape?
At this time , I am an Online Personal/Fitness Trainer and Meal Planner. I have been doing this for the past 2 years, it is blessing for me to have the opportunity to help change someone's life through fitness.
My reasoning behind training is that I got tired of walking around at 21 years old at 130 lbs. I hated the way I looked and I figured that there was no other way to change this other than getting in the gym and pushing some iron. As the years have passed, it has turned out to be quite beneficial
[ Q ] If you could only pick one, what would be your absolute favorite supplement?
If I had to choose one supplement, I would take Cellucor's M5. I love the fact it can bring those lean mass gains and that I get NO, a stimulant and the creatine Magnapower in one serving. Those 3 combined can do wonders.
[ Q ] What is the most important thing you've learned since you started training?
The most important thing I have learned is that eating is the key to all progression. You can train 4-5 hours a day, 7 days a week but if you aren't eating enough to support what you are doing then you are sacrificing a lot of progress, rather it be gains or fat loss. Once I started eating 6-8 times per day with meals high in protein, lower in carbs and moderate in healthy fats, things changed at an alarming rate , in terms of progress.

[ Q ] If I looked in your refrigerator, what would I find?
[ Q ] What is the best fitness advice you could give to someone?
The best advice I can give is to train smart, eat smart and get at least 6 hours of sleep per night.
I will also say you have to find a focus and do not let anyone break it. You will always have people who want to bring you down. They will criticize you for the way you always eat so clean, they will pressure you to eat and drink bad. They will also criticize you for going to the gym so much.
I dealt with this for years and it was very distracting , but once I found that focus, nobody was breaking it. Surround yourself with positive and encouraging people.
[ Q ] What are your future fitness goals?
My all time goal since entering the fitness world was to own my own training facility. Well that goal is about to take place, as on Dec. 4th 2010, I will be opening up my own spot called Poynter's Iron Pit.
This will be a spot that is unlike your typical training areas. This gym will welcome powerlifters, bodybuilders and anyone who just wants to be unleashed and allowed to use chalk, slam weights and go all out with training.
[ Q ] Is there anything you would like to say to all the BodySpace people out there?
I would like to thank all of the members of Bodyspace for the motivation and inspiration you give me to keep pushing hard day after day.
I love to see how these members are progressing through progress pics, videos and those motivational blog posts. Keep pushing hard, carry the 3D's with you on a daily basis: Drive, Discipline, and Determination.
