[ Q ] What is your name, where are you from, and how old are you?

My name is Amy Sedlatschek and I am from northern Illinois. I am 41 years old.

[ Q ] How long have you been visiting Bodybuilding.com and using BodySpace, how did you find out about it, and have you met any BodySpace members in person?

I joined Bodybuilding.com in February 2008 after reading an advertisement in a women's fitness magazine. At the Arnold in 2009, I met many members from the site while I was working a booth. It was a great experience to finally shake their hands.

[ Q ] What do you do for a living, and what made you decide to get yourself into such great shape?

Currently I am a stay at home mom. I started working out to boost my self-esteem and battle depression. I feel so much better; It's one of the best decisions I have ever made.

[ Q ] If you could only pick one, what would be your absolute favorite supplement?

My absolute favorite supplement is fairly new to the market. AmiN.O. Energy from Optimum Nutrition provides me with steady BCAA's and a little kick to boost my endurance. I use it pre/post workout and anytime I need more energy.

[ Q ] What is the most important thing you've learned since you started training?

The most important thing I have learned since I started training is to be patient. When you train consistently and eat properly you want to see change! I have learned that the process of building muscle and losing fat is a long form of commitment for me. Statistics say that us over 40 folks lose muscle every year. I say... NOT SO! I am gaining!

[ Q ] What is it about BodySpace that makes it different from other social networks?

BodySpace is a special site because of the people. There are so many fitness minded individuals to connect with. When I first joined, I was very intimidated by some of the physiques I saw. Instead of dwelling on the fact that I didn't look like them, I reached out to them for help! I received all the information and motivation I needed from tons of members.

[ Q ] What is the best fitness advice you could give to someone?

My advice to anyone regarding fitness is to educate yourself. There are hundreds of articles and videos right here on Bodybuilding.com to guide you. The more I studied, the more I began to understand the big picture. Every variable is critical to your success. Nutrition, workouts, and supplementation are equal contributors to progression, with the right plan.

[ Q ] Did you make any mistakes when you first started working out?

The biggest mistake I made when I started working out was not eating enough. I did way too much steady state cardio and lifted weights around it. The result was a lighter, smaller version of me. However I had no tone! I lost muscle, not fat.

[ Q ] What are your future fitness goals?

My short term goals are to make my IFPA pro figure debut in spring/summer 2011. I also plan to become a certified Metabolic Effect trainer by June.
