BodySpace Member Of The Month: PRCutie

When someone makes an immediate impact on a social network like BodySpace then there's a good chance that the member is going to be featured. And that's clearly the case here with June's BodySpace member of the month, PRCutie. This active BodySpacer hasn't been around long but she became popular extremely fast, and for good reason.
At just under 5 feet tall, this petite bombshell went from a mammoth (for her frame) 140 lbs to a tight and toned 90lbs. And if that's not impressive enough, she's always more than willing to drop a comment on someone else's page to motivate them or to acknowledge their accomplishments.
She also entered the Bodyspace Spokesmodel contest last year and came so very close to making the finals. Not giving up on making her mark on the fitness world, PRCutie marched on and stepped onstage to compete for the first time. She placed 2nd place in a bikini competition.
If you're not already friends with this fitness go-getter on BodySpace, then here's your chance to see what all the fuss is about.
My name is Iris Wiseman, I live in Central Florida and I am 35 years old.
You're right, everybody asks me that question. It's because I am Puerto Rican; Puerto Rican cutie.
I have been a member of BodySpace since Jul 3, 2010. I started using BodySpace because I wanted to use supplements along with my workouts and was confused about what protein powder to use.
I found BodySpace to be a great tool to find out what supplements work for other members. I've met Ruckus, Laura London, Nick Scott, toobehuge, shelleycannon, kieraB, netdoma, drakonWPE and others!
It's great to be able to have the support of them and other BodySpace members.

I am a fitness instructor and I teach Les Mills BodyCombat. BodyCombat is a mixed martial arts (muay thai, karate, tae kwon do, kickboxing, etc) workout that lets you unleash and feel totally empowered.
It's a kick-ass cardio workout! I will also be a facilitator for a program called Salsa, Sabor y Salud. It's a program to improve awareness of habits leading to better nutrition and increased physical activity for Latino families with children.
After tipping the scales at 140+ lbs I said "enough was enough". Being 4'11" it just did not look pretty. I looked like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka (I was brown though instead of blue).
I began by eating healthier and then incorporated exercise. I started lifting in April 2010 after seeing an article on getting your bikini body on Bodybuilding.com. It emphasized weight training (something I wasn't used to).
Being a self proclaimed cardio queen I left cardio behind (at that time) and decided to start lifting heavy. No regrets!
At first, when I was a big doughnut (you are what you eat), I stayed dedicated because I was tired of using rubber bands to hold together my jean buttons.
After losing 45+ lbs, I needed to elevate my game. So I joined Team BodySculpting headed by Mike Matassa (toobehuge) at the beginning of the year to prepare for a competition. I competed for the 1st time in April, and placed 2nd in both Bikini over 35 and Open Bikini.
I chose to compete in Bikini because that's the exact body type I want, sexy and lean…without losing my curves. For bikini competitions, the emphasis is on the butt and who doesn't want nice plump glutes! I do, I do!
Well…the 1st thing I learned about training is that there is a lot to learn! The most important thing is that you have to be consistent…change will not come if you sporadically diet and exercise.
You have to…absolutely have to do it day in and day out. It has to become a part of you. It's pointless if you do it for a wedding, class reunion or cruise if you are going to go back to a sedentary lifestyle afterwards.
Training goes further than the hour spent in the gym each day; you have to live the lifestyle outside of the gym as well.
Ooooh…that is a hard one, but I'd have to say my answer would be my back. I naturally have a broad back and narrow waist. Everybody compliments me on it so of course I like the body part that is best on me, but I have grown to love leg day.
That's where I am the weakest. The last place that darn fat leaves is from my inner thighs and hamstring area…oh I hate it! Sprints, jump roping and plyometrics are what I do to lean out my legs.
Make up your mind and stick with it! Your transformation may take months and in my case years! If you are dedicated and stay consistent, change will come! Some people can do a 180 degree change from their bad habits, but most people can't because it's too overwhelming.
With step-by-step progress you will eventually get where you want to go. Another thing…not one person has all the answers. Listen, read, and learn from multiple sources and ultimately do what is best for you!

I'm going to have to go and see…be right back. It looks like I have about 3 dozen eggs, sweet potatoes, chicken, frozen strawberries and lots of veggies.
Of course I mentioned all the right things I have, but here are the wrong things (but they're not for me)…fried plantains, white rice, white bread and buns, salami, hot dogs and lots of condiments with sugar.
It would definitely have to be the progress pictures. I LOVE to see how my body has changed over time and pictures don't lie, there's no hiding a double chin!
I will for sure compete again! I'm looking to do at least 2 more bikini competitions this year. I want to keep improving on what I have and surpassing expectations.
I would love to continue working with others and help them achieve their fitness goals on a grander scale. And hey, who knows some supplement company might even want to sponsor me!
Thank you! Thank you for the uplifting comments, the inquiries regarding my training and the support you give me. I definitely couldn't have achieved what I have without the members of BodySpace.
MIL BESOS!
