How Did You Get Started?

I started training after putting on the freshman 15 at college. I wanted to get more muscular and lose the fat. I started lifting and saw slow but continuous gains and that haven't stopped yet.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I usually cycle between two major programs. The first program I call strength training during which I will hit each body part once every 5 days. I stick with 2 exercises for each body part for which I perform warm up sets with one all out set to failure. I keep the reps in the 5-7 range and always make it a mission to add reps or weight every workout. This program makes my joints sore after 6 weeks or so and which point I switch to what I call a mass gaining routine. In this cycle I hit each body part once per week with 3-5 exercises. I still perform warm up sets with one all out set but keep the rep range higher, usually 10-12. This cycle allows my joints and mind to recover from the strength training program. I will switch back to the strength routine after 6-8 weeks on this cycle. I feel that cycling my workouts in this fashion prevents me from overtraining both physically and mentally.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

During the offseason I stick with Prolab N-Large 2. I consume a shake immediately after each workout. I think this is a great supplement for the all important post workout window. When dieting for competition I will take Thermadrene to aid in weight loss. Thermadrene really helps curb my appetite and keep my energy level high when dieting down for competition.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because of the challenge. I love setting goals and then giving it everything I have to reach them. As long as I'm getting stronger, I know I'm getting bigger. When competition time comes around I get to see the changes I have made and that is a great reward.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan on taking a few years off from competition so I can focus on gaining more mass. I would like to add 50-75lbs to my squat and deadlift and another 30-50lbs to my bench. When I have reached these goals, I will hit the stage again and hopefully compete at the national level.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Set goals and then do WHATEVER it takes to reach them. I don't believe that you can reach your genetic limits. Keep a vision of what you want to be in your mind and think of it everytime you train. Work toward that vision and one day you WILL get there.
