How Did You Get Started?
I started working out as a 5 foot tall and 89lb freshman in high school. By senior year I was 5' 7", 170lb training and competing in powerlifting. I won the Indiana overall best powerlifter in 1997 and placed 3rd in the nation at 19 years old. After working a couple of years as personal trainer in a health club, I decided to try bodybuilding and found that I enjoyed it.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I built a good base and large legs from powerlifting workouts and a bodybuilding diet. I lift heavy weight with low reps and the reps are slow and deliberate. Then I change it up with light weight and high reps. I always say, keep changing up what you are doing to avoid plateaus.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I really don't take a lot of supplements. I use Designer Whey Protein powder and multi-vitamins. Food is the most important supplement. I also use the Juiceman Juicer and juice a special recipe of vegetables and fruits once a day.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
It's great for developing self-respect, discipline and pride. And it's fun!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I don't ever plan on getting much bigger, I just want to continue to improve and become the best natural middleweight that I can possible be.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Try to just consistently better yourself. If you just keep improving, there is no limit to where you can go.
