How Did You Get Started?

When I was 16 I moved in with my best friend James and his family. James and his brother, Heath, are very athletic and they helped get me active. James and I followed in his older brother's foot steps and I began my commitment to bodybuilding on August 1st 1996.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

In the off-season I like to workout 3 days on, 1 day off and only working each body part once a week for maximum recovery. When training for a show I start my cardio 12 weeks out and start to train two body parts a day. During this time I like to keep the sets and reps around 4x10-12 and only resting no more than a minute. I usually don't work my abs and obliques until I'm about 8 weeks out. That's probably because I can't see them yet. For bulking up I keep my reps low and I use heavy weight. During this time you'll rarely see me on any type of cardio machine. Also, I stick with the basics when bulking up.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Personally, I have found that keeping my protein intake high and supplementing with Cell-Tech helps to put on a good amount of muscle.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding has made me who I am today. I don't think I would be here today if it wasn't for the transformation I went through when I was 16. I started training with about 24% body fat and dropped over 40lbs to compete in my first contest. The changes in my appearance were dramatic and so was my self-esteem. Bodybuilding keeps me feeling good about myself. I know that not everyone in the world can bodybuild, it's a tough sport, and I'm proud to be part of the small 1% that can do it!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I want to establish myself as one of the best in in the state. First off, to get my $50 bucks worth of supplements from Bodybuilding.com. :-) I am still getting ready for the 2002 20th anniversary Emerald Cup that is on April 20th. Then I am planning on getting back in shape for the Northern Lights Bodybuilding show here in Fairbanks Alaska. After that...Jr. Nationals since I'm qualified.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

One tip I would give to other bodybuilders is stay consistent. Staying consistent with your diet is very important, as with training, rest, and supplements. But overall, If you have good, intense workouts, then proper nutrition and supplements will be the key to taking your physique to the next level.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I met Yolanda Hughes after my first contest and she ate dinner with us. She is a very sweet lady and I have a tremendous amount of respect for her. I admire Lee Priest for his freakiness and honesty. Levrone has always been a favorite and Shawn Ray has one of the best physiques! My best friends Eric and Heath are my heroes. Look for Heath Warren on the national level soon!
