How Did You Get Started?

I got started lifting weights when I was in high school to stay in shape for baseball season. When I got out of high school and realized I wouldn't be able to play college ball I began lifting weights to get bigger and improve the way I felt about myself. I began my training in a small gym at a nearby junior college where I started my college career. It was open four hours a day, four days a week. I was there open to close every day.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

The plan that has worked best for me is to do no more than two body parts per day. I prefer one a day but there aren't enough days in the week for that. I split my routine up into a six day-a-week schedule. In prepping for my show, I used the seventh day of the week to do "touch-up" work; to work on my problem areas such as bi's, hams, and calves.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I have gotten the greatest gains from simple protein powders and bars. I try to consume three shakes and two bars per day in addition to my regular meals. Currently, I am taking Myoplex Deluxe 3x's/day and eating Myoplex Deluxe Bars 2x's/day. I have just begun taking Cytodyne's Z-Mass so it is too early to tell. Is that an endorsement or what!

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because of the amount of self-discipline you acquire just by forcing yourself to the extreme. It is so easy some days to just stay home and watch Cartoon Network and eat Cap'n Crunch, but self-discipline will make you change clothes, take your Xenadrine NRG, and get to the gym. I also love bodybuilding because that is the best way to meet people who can become life-long friends. I have met all of my best friends in the gym at one time or another. I can chronicle my life by when and where I met each friend.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My future bodybuilding plan is to compete in this years Red River Bodybuilding competition in Oklahoma City as an open heavyweight. I hope to come in around 215 and in better shape than last year. After that I will do the Mr. Oklahoma competition the following June if I feel I am able to compete at a high enough level.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

My tip to others is to change your workouts frequently. A workout should not be a "routine" but more a program that you follow and modify as soon as your body begins to adapt to it. Also, I would recommend to eat as much protein as possible to pack on the muscle. And stay away from that cardio in the off-season!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite Bodybuilder is, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I also have great respect for Shawn Ray, Mike Matarazzo, and Johnnie Jackson. I am also a big fan of the local/state bodybuilders that I know but are too numerous to list.
