How Did You Get Started?

I am a reformed obese person. One day I was getting my hair cut and someone said to me "You have such beautiful hair" (the old Bon Jovi-ish style). I said thanks. They then said since you spend so much time on your hair, why don't you spend that time and put forth the effort into losing some weight. That really bothered me so much! Later that same day I saw a rival I hadn't seen in years. He had gone from skinny to musclebound. That caused me to join a gym. I had no interest in bodybuilding until a trainer there said to me with legs like that you should get into bodybuilding and that was the start. Then after meeting my mentor Jim Hellwig aka The Ultimate Warrior, he talked me into following through with my new dream and that was to be like and look like him.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

My workouts seem to vary by the season. Winter I tend to go heavy, summer I go to more cutting and sculpting exercises. Regardless every workout begins with a four mile run.

A sample arm workout:

Barbell Curl 4 sets of 10
Dumbell Curl 3 sets of 21's, 1 set to failure
Preacher Curl 3 sets 21's, 1 set to failure
Reverse curls 3 sets of 15


Push Down 4 sets of 10
Reverse Push Down 3 sets of 15, 1 set to failure
Single Arm Behind the Neck Tri Press 4 sets of 10 (each arm)
Rope Push Downs 3 sets 15, 1 set to failure
Bicep cable curls from the top of the cable rack 3 sets 15, 1 set to failure

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I take 3000 mg of L-Carnitine a day. I also enjoy a pure Protein (Peanut butter) each day between lunch and my workout.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

That's an easy one. Two words: Self Esteem!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My current goal is to finish training (Darren Whitberg) a teen from NJ. His show is next Saturday (A week from today). After that , I'm headed to the ANPPC Mr. NJ show at the Wildwood Convention Center, Wildwood, NJ this July.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Keep the belief in yourself that your goals are attainable. Once attained, set another goal. Only you can take your body to it's potential so don't listen to all the know it alls. Let your integrity show you the way to mental and physical success.
