How Did You Get Started?

Saw a picture of Steve Reeves on a magazine when I was 14 and was immediately inspired. Back in England (until recently) it was not easy to "indulge" in such an esoteric sport and then career got in the way. When I was 61 yrs old and 215 lbs of fat I felt I was teetering on the edge of old age and had to do something to regain my "dream" before it was too late. Fell in with a magnificient, inspiring and ultra-knowledgeable trainer, Ming Chew, and worked with him for 3 months while doing a job in NY. He taught me everything and changed my life; after 6 weeks saw an amazing change and have been hooked ever since and haven't missed a workout except when sick.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

4 times a week, changing the split every 6 weeks, no 2 consecutive workouts exactly the same. Aiming to increase reps or poundages incrementally every workout if possible.

    MON: Chest/triceps/abs
    TUE: Quads/calves
    WED rest
    THU: Back/biceps/abs
    FRI: Delts/hams
    SAT/SUN: rest

My system for greatest gains: Never retreat: challenge the muscles; get enough rest! Take a week off every 12 weeks. EAT. 12 weeks before a contest start the DIET, challenge the muscles even more, pose every day, refine and shape.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Glutamine.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It has not only changed my life but SAVED it. Had quadruple bypass in '95 and surgeon said if I had not been bodybuilding I would not have come through it. It also relieves me COMPLETELY of all stress and I'm really proud when I look in the mirror and thank God for what I now see, compared to 8 years ago. It's wonderful!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Working towards the NPC Caveman Classic next April and hopefully the Nationals Masters. Keeping at it!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't overtrain: listen to your body! EAT, SLEEP. DRINK LOTS of WATER!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Dennis Newman, Milos Sarcev, Bill Davey, Markus Reinhardt (previous Am BB of the Week!)
