Day # 22 of 56 - 02-01-02
Well after a week of being sick and trying to recoup all was going well. But then my pregnant wife started going into premature labor about 12 weeks too early so I have spent most of my weekend at the hospital including last night. As most of you know the last place you want to be to try and get a good nights sleep is a hospital. So after waking up at 5:30 am after getting around 3 hours of total sleep I was not in the workout mood but I dug down deep inside and pushed myself through a pretty tough chest and tricep workout this morning. I would have put it off until later in the day but I didn't know if my wife would be released today or not.
I restarted taking my supplements and eating on my usual schedule yesterday so that I would be ready to hit it hard today. As expected I was weaker than normal but I usually am after a week off due to illness.
I started off with some standing calf raises for 3 sets of 12 slow and really squeezing at the top of each rep.
After warming up for a few minutes it was time to hit my chest.
Flat bench - 2x6 - 135lbs, 1x4 - 200lbs, 1x4 - 245lbs, 1x 4 - 270lbs, 1x6 - 200lbs
Incline bench - 1x6 - 200lbs, 1x6 - 245lbs
Pec deck fly - 1x12 - 70lbs, 1x8 - 80lbs
Tricep push down - 1x12 - 70lbs, 1x12 - 80lbs
Skull crushers - 2x10 - 110lbs
Kickbacks - 2x10 - 35lbs
Each set was performed with perfect form and a 4 second negative.
It felt great to get back in the swing of things today. I hope that the setbacks are over I just can't take another week off. I was miserable all last week and just felt bad due to the fact I couldn't train. I will be off tomorrow but will be ready to blast back, shoulders and biceps on Wednesday. Hopefully my strength will be back up by then. Until then, take care and train hard.
