Lateral ape

The lateral ape is an exercise focused on the lower body that involves staying in a low squat position as you hop laterally. It can be performed as part of a dynamic warm-up, to improve hip mobility, or as part of a fat-loss or athleticism-focused circuit workout.

  1. Builds muscular endurance and strength in the quads, adductors, glutes, and hamstrings
  2. Increases core strength, as well as full-body coordination and balance
  3. Trains agility with lateral movement
  4. Can improve squat form and hip mobility
