Ashley Gearhart

Ashley Gearhart passed away without "pain" on January 29th, 2022 according to a statement posted online by her younger sister. Her cause of death remains unknown at this time. 

She had competed in the industry for over 10 years and earned her pro card in 2018. Gearhart owned the fitness service Strength Inside Out. Aubree Rhodes, her sister, confirmed the death on January 31st. A few days later she posted "We still don’t have all the answers we need/want but we know she was in no pain, and because of that I feel at ease!" 



Marvin Eder

Marvin “Biceps from the Bronx” Eder passed away on February 1st, 2022. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. 

Eder was known for his extraordinary strength and aesthetic physique. He competed in Bodybuilding shows from 1949 to 1951 in IFBB and AAU organizations. In regard to his strength, he was one of the first people to have a 500lb bench press while weighing under 200lbs and also had a 665lb squat and 750lb deadlift. 

Tributes have been coming in for both athletes from the community.

Tom Prince 

Tom Prince passed away with his wife at his side on February 5th, 2022. At this time, according to Generation Iron, the cause of death remains unknown. 

He had been in the industry for decades and earned his pro card at the 1999 NPC National Championships before moving into the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness in 1999. He was forced to retire in 2002 due to kidney issues from a genetic blood condition but then moved into coaching after his retirement from the sport. 

Prince's passing was just days after the bodybuilding community was impacted by the deaths of Ashley Gearhart and Marvin Eder.
