How Did You Get Started?
In 2001 a friend of mine invited me to enter the local contest. So I trained for 6 months and I finished in the second overall place. At that time I even didn't known how to pose! After this competition I was classified to compete in the national championship at the same year, considering that 6 months ago I had never been in a single gym. In that contest I finished in fifth place.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
Sample Training Week
Tuesday - Chest and back
Wednesday - Biceps and shoulder
Thursday - Legs and triceps
Friday - Traps and calves.
I usually do the basic exercises with free weights due the greater range of motion they can offer and because they force you to be very focused on the movement. I think it's an awful mistake to have a predetermined number of reps for each set of exercise. The point is: don't worry about the number of reps! Do as much repetitions as you can, with the weight you can handle without cheating!! Go until you're exhausted!!
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I don't have a nutrition plan during the off season, because I can't afford buying the necessary supplements and foods. So I eat only three times during the day while avoiding junk food. The fact that I don't like candies helps tremendously. In the pre-contest season, sometimes I have a little sponsorship which gives me the basic supplementation like whey protein, egg protein, creatine... I use to eat sweet potato, egg white and chicken breast; everything with no spice and salt.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?
At the beginning I thought bodybuilding was a weird sport; a lot of guys onstage showing off their muscles for what? And what about the diet? Man, I almost gave up! So, only now I'm beginning to be keener for this sport because I know that I have the potential to achieve the professional level but at the moment there is a lot of work to do.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
To keep on competing at the national and world level championships and one day, or maybe soon if I have the necessary guts and money, to get the pro card. At the moment I'm very focused on doubling my overall size.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
When people come to talk to me the first question is: What kind of steroid do you take?
So I tell them that I never, ever, took a single injection of nandrolone or other roids, because I'm very afraid of it and I can't buy them. Believe it or not here in Brazil I earn only US$100.00 monthly. Without the support from a friend of mine, I couldn't train for competitions.
Fortunately I can say that God gave me some awesome genetics. Seeing from my pictures you can notice my proportions: small and thick arms, small waist and my skin is very thin. But above the genetic factor are the discipline and intelligence applied to my training. So, stay very focused on your goals and be a very disciplined and wise person!!
