How Did You Get Started?

When I first moved to UT and was bored as @#%$ I had to find something to keep me from going insane and golfing was not in the picture. I first started hiking because I love the outdoors. I quickly learned that I was out of shape coming from TN. So I purchased a gym membership in the summer of '98.

I sat on it until Jan of 1999 and began my journey. I began reading up on natural bodybuilding and sports specific training. I decided size without function was not an option for me and natural bodybuilding was the way for me to achieve this.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I like to vary my workout and change them energy 5 to 6 weeks. I alternate weeks and add plyometrics in on certain days to keep the function of the muscle intact. I start with 10 min cardio warm up finishing with 20 min cardio after my workout 3 days a week.

Superset - Two exercises are performed consecutively without any rest.
Trisets - Three exercises are performed consecutively without any rest.

Day 1: Chest

Day 2: Back

Day 3: Quads/Calves

Day 4: Triceps/Biceps

Day 5: Hamstrings/Calves

Day 6: Shoulders/Traps

Day 7: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

So far SciVation Sesamin and Dialene 4x , Dymatize Glutamine, Multi Vitamins, cayenne pepper extract, green tea extract, Elite Whey Protein, and fish oils have worked best for me. I try to keep it simple and get most of my nutrients from food. I may have a protein shake after workout if it will take me more than 30 min to get home.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Natural bodybuilding has become one of my sources of truth to this madness we call life. The truth is life isn't a fairy tale. It isn't fair. It's not about the rich and the poor. It's an unforgiving and never yielding series of burdens we must all carry in our on way.

Stop complaining! Sweat, tears, and sacrifice make you stronger so you overcome and excel. Along the journey, we find out a lot more about who we truly are. Knowing our self allows us to enjoy the simpler things in life. Family, friends, freedom.

There is also no greater rush or high when I am training someone and that light bulb pops on inside of them. They realize that they are the one in control of their goals and life. I am just along for guidance and to learn a little more along the way.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I truly do love the energy I have from being healthy. Not only can I do more but I can actually enjoy to a greater extent now. As my health has increased my senses have become more in tune with my surroundings. I experience life in a heightened state.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

I love the raw power that comes from pushing yourself beyond the limits others croon can't be done. The power that comes from knowing the peak I just climbed is only one of an infinite many on my journey to self improvement.

I know others that seek that perfect body. I seek an endless road filled with opportunities to grow and improve myself and others.

I want to be able to show others it's not about looking like someone else. It's taking what you have been given and grinding that raw material up into your best creation.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I just finished 9 shows this year. Placed well over all, but looking for new challenges. I plan on taking time off till fall 2012 and compete in NGA pro shows as well as INBA shows leading to the Natural Olympia 2012.

Would love to find a natural sponsor, but if not I am still in it for life. I am currently working on my business, Naturalete. It is a home based training program that teaches people how to train in their homes, parks, while on vacation, etc.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Enjoy the journey. If all you gain is size and status, trust me, you won't be happy in the long run.

Share knowledge. Ask questions. Give back to the sport and to mankind.

Above all, be positive not only with yourself, but to others.

I believe we all have the potential to be athlete in some form or fashion. Live beyond the stage of competition, and be a lifelong athlete.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Dexter Jackson, Ron Williams, Kai Greene, and Philip Ricardo Jr. are amongst the professional level competitors I like.

On a personal level, no one motivates me more than the girl or guy who has been coming into the gym day after day busting their @#$ to achieve their goal.

What Features Do You Use On

I love the inspirational forums. There is nothing like positive energy. The forums have that in spades. Also love the wealth of information contained in the articles.
