How Did You Get Started?
A (bodybuilder) friend of mine introduced me to the sport. Thank you Robert E. Baca. He took me to my first bodybuilding show where Lou Ferrigno was the Guest Poser (1983). This is when I knew; fitness (working out) was my calling. I was really shy at the time, but knew that I would one day be up there on stage competing. And here I am.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
My workouts are always changing, depending on what my goals are for that time period. I switch out my workouts every 4-6 weeks. Ladies, don't be afraid to lift heavy!! That's what gives you that rockin' body you desire!
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I eat anywhere from 5-7 times a day every 2-3 hours. I enjoy a good breakfast like Protein Waffles with sugar free syrup and all natural peanut butter on occasion, depending on if I'm on-season or not. I am always sure to eat protein with every meal. I include bison and flank steak in with my contest-eating plan. I see so many competitors out there not eating enough protein, and wonder why they are losing muscle the last few weeks of competition prep with all of the cardio they are doing. I'll have a cheat meal on occasion, my favorite being Sushi, Asian Food and Strawberry Cheesecake, yummy!
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I usually keep supplements to a minimum but noticed the greatest gains in my physique when I started incorporating BCAAs during my workouts. I always take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement, along with Vitamin C twice a day and Melatonin in the evenings before bed. I keep protein shakes to a minimum unless I'm short on time. I'm a firm believer in healthy solid foods.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love the way it makes me feel, inside and out. Mentally, physically, and spiritually. It gives me balance, confidence in myself, relieves stress, and gives me the ability to challenge myself each and every day to reach new levels of performance. Creating the body I deserve.
What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?
I stay motivated by knowing there is always something more I can get out of it, working towards an extraordinary physique. You will never reach a plateau as long as you challenge yourself all the time. Watching other Figure competitors out there and what they've achieved (Pros'), gives me more drive. I know that I can be up there with the best of them.
I just have to keep focused on my goals every day and it is sure to happen. I want to live a healthy life and not let the aging process win without a fight!! I dedicate myself to the power of CANI "Constant and Never Ending Improvement" each and every day.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?
One day I realized that time is just passing me by and I didn't want the waves of life to just pull me in with the current. I really want to be the one in charge of where my life is going. I had realized there were still a few things I wanted to accomplish that I had talked about in the past, but everyone knows. Talk is cheap. I was ready to put my ideas into play.
So this year, after turning the big 40, I made up my mind to pursue my goals with every ounce of determination and drive I have in me. I know that age is nothing but a number, I still feel like I am in my late 20's and no one knows any different. I believe in the power of the mind and how it has control over how your body responds. I may be getting a later start on things, but this is just the beginning. So far I have four competitions lined up through the end of 2009. So watch out young ladies!! Here I come!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan on having a busy 2009. I will be competing in OCB & NPC shows with one goal in mind. I want to win my pro-card. Either in IFBB or IFPA. Once I've accomplished that, I will continue to compete and I will always live a healthy lifestyle. I wish to inspire those around me and educate those who are in the dark when it comes to how to live a healthy life.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Enjoy life, give 110% when you are training and make healthy choices. Do not set limits on what you can accomplish. Balance out your life so that you are not consumed with training and diet that you are unable to enjoy the company of loved ones and other outside activities. Everything should be balanced. Live in balance because if you want something bad enough, it will be.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
When I first started working out at the age of 14, I was greatly inspired by Gladys Portugues and Rachel Mclish. I still admire them greatly. I also admire those physiques of Monica Brant-Peckham, Pauline Nordin and Flex Wheeler. Just to name a few.
