How Did You Get Started?

I have always made exercise a part of my life, but as with many women, my efforts increased when I wanted to lose my post-pregnancy weight and regain my pre-pregnancy physique. I began my training on my own, focusing heavily on cardio and diet and minimally on weight training. As you can imagine, it was the results I saw from the weight training that truly got me excited. I am a very determined, disciplined, and goal oriented person. By 2005, I was ready to undertake the bigger challenge of training for a body building competition.

I worked my body parts in the following manner during the week:

I usually pick 4-5 exercises per body part and compound them to fatigue the specific muscle.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Carb-Cycling is the most effective diet plan for me to lean out. My carb-cycling diet cycle consists a High-Medium-Low-Low-Low cycle, where protein intake is adjusted along with the carbohydrate intake on each day for maximum effectiveness. I also try to stay lean all year around with more flexibility on my eating, but I try to eat cleanly all year around with little indulgence.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I believe cleaning eating is the best way to go, and I use two types of protein powder, depending on my diet need of the day/time: Nature Best's Isopure protein powder and BSN's Syntha-6 protein powder. Amino Acids is also essential prior and post workout.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I truly love the sport of bodybuilding. It is a sport that requires discipline, determination, and will power. My accomplishments demonstrate that I am a strong person, both mentally and physically. This sport gave me self-confidence and pride, that has helped me being a happier person in everyday life.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to continue to train hard, compete and win in my first Pro show in November 2007.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

My one tip would be stay focused! It literally took one year for my legs to develop, but when the lines start to come out, I was so excited and became more determined to make my legs even more developed. I used to have a fear for leg workouts, and now it is my favorite body part to train, and I aim to make my legs my best body part.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Lynda Murray. She is beautiful and muscular, she is also my age. She is powerful yet feminine at the same time.
