How Did You Get Started?

I have many guy friends who are competitive bodybuilders and have always had a passion for working out. In the 1990's I started reading bodybuilding magazines. First I started out by reading the exercises in the magazines and trying them out at the gym. Then it was seeing the images of the beautiful fitness models' well defined physiques. In addition, I had a relative in Muscle Magazine many times, as well Iron Man Magazine and Planet Muscle. Her images inspired me to train harder.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Weight training works best for me with very little cardio. Especially, if I am a few weeks out from a competition. Too much cardio and I tend to lose weight too easily - which mean a loss in muscle mass.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

A key component of my training success is nutrition. Nutrition is what gives us the raw materials for recuperation, energy, and growth. Without a good diet, your dreams of achieving your ideal body will never be reached. I eat smaller and more frequent meals throughout the day instead of large and infrequent ones. I eat the right amount of sufficient proteins, complex carbs, and plenty of water.

    Why do you love Bodybuilding?

    I have always been an active athlete. In high school I was involved in sports. After high school I joined a gym and found I thoroughly enjoy the endorphin rush I get from working out and became a dedicated gym rat.

    What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

    Being a dedicated gym rat I have many friends who have been successful in the bodybuilding competitions. They inspire me to do well and it makes me appreciate my lifelong passion of working out.

    What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

    Watching my friends compete in bodybuilding and placing got me interested in Figure competition as well as having my guy friends tell me I should compete...hence training hard and inspire to be on stage. I have done several competitions with good placements. I would eventually like to place higher in Figure Bodybuilding and eventually earn my Pro card.

    What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

    I will continue to train hard and do figure competitions. Also, I want to help people achieve their healthy goals of being fit. In the process, I want to still continuously work on achieving my goal of earning my pro card. I am considering getting personal training NASM Certification - by my trainer's recommendation. He says I have the knowledge and know how. I just need to get certified.
