How Did You Get Started?

I just started working out to lose weight. As I saw the pounds disappear and saw some muscle definition, I decided to do a bodybuilding show. I remember saying to my husband that I wanted a body, so if I ever wanted to compete I could. The rest is history!

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I work out 7 days a week with 45 minutes of cardio a day. I do a rotating schedule for weight training as follows (I like to super set exercises, it gets my heart rate up there):

Day 1: Legs

Day 2: Shoulders

Day 3: Arms

Day 4: Abs/Calves

Day 5: Back

Day 6: Chest

Day 7: Legs

This leg workout differs from the one on day 1, with similar volume but different exercises. I like to change it up every workout and keep it fresh, my muscles respond much better.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I try to keep my carbs and fat to a minimum off season. I allow myself a couple of cheat meals a week so I don't feel like I am being deprived and go on an eating binge. I try to keep my meals the same on a daily basis so I know how much fat, protein and carbs I am consuming.

Meal 1: 6:45 AM
Meal 2: 7 AM
Meal 3: 10 AM
Meal 4: 12 AM
Meal 5: 2 PM
Meal 6: 5 PM

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I really think that the NO Xplode and Beta Alanine have really helped me out with the energy and strength I now have in the gym. It seems I can lift a lot heavier than I use to, and my endurance and intensity is 100 times better than it ever was.

4 AM: Pre Workout
6 AM: Post Workout

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love to see my body transform for the better every year. I also love to give other people the motivation to achieve whatever their goals may be.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I like to be strong in the gym, and I also like the energy that being in shape gives me. I am able to do so much more at 51 than I could at 31. I see so many people as they get older not being able to get around the way they want to I want to be as active as I can no matter how old I am.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

I remember about 15 years ago I had a family picture taken and I could not believe how over weight and unhealthy I was. That was when I hired my 1st trainer to slap me into shape. I went to a bodybuilding show a couple of years later and I wanted to have a body just like those women I saw on stage. So that became my goal; to have a body that was good enough to get up there on stage in a tiny little posing suit in front of spectators if I so chose. Well, I did choose to go up on stage and it is the biggest high you could imagine.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to keep on competing every year as long as I can and as long as I still find it fun, to me the competition is fun a way for me to show off all my gains I have made over the past year. I would love to compete in a national qualifier just to see how I place, that would be the most awesome experience.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't ever give up on your goals, keep striving for what you want and you will achieve it. Remember no one is a loser. I am a 51 year old grandmother and if I can do it so can you.

What Features Do You Use On

I use the Store all the time. I also use the Forums, I don't post much but I like to read reviews and other people's thoughts on supplements etc. I also use the site to research new supplements that come out and look for bodybuilding contests to enter.
