How Did You Get Started?

My name is Bart and I'm living in The Netherlands in Eindhoven, I'm 24 years old. I have been training & gaining for 5-6 years now. Last December I did my first contest which was a great experience. I got 5th.

This is my life style and I love it and lot's of thank to my baby boy and wife who are supporting me.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I go/U go; my training partner is a real hardcore maniac.

    Monday: Chest & Calves
    Tuesday: Back & Calves
    Wednesday: Quads & Calves
    Thursday: Hamstrings & Calves
Friday: Shoulders & Biceps & Triceps & Abs
    Saturday: rest
    Sunday: rest

Here is my one week schedule:

I have tried a lot of things but now I'm doing High Volume Training and that is working great for me, but I think what the most worked for me was this.

Me and my partner did 'I go/U go' and we didn't talk about anything, we just concentrated on the training and lifted that heavy metal.

I was working at the Air Force and my partner was from the States (Zike Mungiua). He has done some contests in the states and he was a lot bigger than me and was more hardcore than what I was back then.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

In the off season I eat a lot of things (6/8 meals a day) and I've eaten a lot of stuff that even would make an elephant grow.

My pre contest diet was 6 meals a day with the meals getting smaller as the contest come closer. My stomach wasn't calculated on that for the first few days / weeks but I came out of it with a smaller waist. And you will learn to respect food, something just a simple sandwich or something like that when you are on a diet.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Well I get up and go to bed with whey shake, Glutamine, and multi-vitamin.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I had a car accident in 2001 and was in a coma for 3-5 weeks. I also broke my collarbone and my leg in three places and had a collapsed lung. I also lost a lot of weight because of the coma.

I was bodybuilding before my accident and through bodybuilding now I rebuild my strength and my body. It is a great sport and with the support of my wife and baby boy I hope to be doing it for the rest of my life.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Last year I participated in the YBF Natural Dutch Championship and ended at the fifth place. This year I will be back bigger and better and hope to win.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Just stay focussed and concentrate on your training and don't spend too much time talking during your training, that's a waste of time.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Governor Arnold, Ronnie Coleman and Harry de Jonge.
