How Did You Get Started?
I have been lifting weights for football and track since I was about 14, but only started to prepare for competition a few months ago. My brother has wanted me to compete for two years now, so I finally gave in to him. After competing in my first show, I have to decided to continue with the sport, and plan to enter a competition in May.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
Sample Training Week:
Biceps (4x10 reps each)
Standing dumbbell curls
Back (4x10 reps each)
Standing dumbbell rows
Chest (4x10 reps each)
Flat bench press
Flat bench flyes
Simultaneous cable curls to the chest
Pushups (typically 3 sets of 50 throughout the day)
I don't work out very long, but my rest time between sets is short, so as to get a cardio workout while I'm lifting. I find that working abs every day helps, because once your body gets used to it, you won't feel sore anymore. My recovery time for that is short, therefore I can work my abs every day and get results quickly.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
My normal diet consists of plenty of red meat, chicken and pork. I also have some form of potato and other vegetables everyday. I snack mostly throughout the day. My meals are usually big, and I only have three main meals a day. I'm a big eater, but I love my junk food too, so my nutrition plan could use some amending. When getting ready for the competition (about 2 months out), I switched to eating mainly chicken for a main course. At this time I also cut down greatly on my intake of junk foods (ice cream, cake etc.) I had 5-6 meals a day two weeks out from competition usually taking in about 3/4 lb of chicken 2-3 times a day.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?
While at college, I always need some outlet to release stress, so bodybuilding takes my mind off my studies. While at the gym, I love the feeling of pushing myself past my goals. My favorite part of bodybuilding is seeing how the human body can be transformed and sculpted.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan to enter a competition in May, and after that, I'm not sure what I'll do.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Work out fast, but under control, and do abs everyday.
