How Did You Get Started?

At young age I was extremely overweight, and to lose the weight I decided to start running. By being consistent with my running I lost 60 pounds by the end of 8th grade and truly became addicted to being healthy. A year later I had started high school football, but had no clue on what I should be doing in the weight room. I remember just doing bench press and some biceps curls.

It wasn't until I saw a bodybuilder at a local gym at 15 years of age that I knew I wanted to do what he was doing. So I went on the computer that night and came across Bodybuilding.com. The website opened a whole new chapter in my bodybuilding and athletic knowledge.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

TERMS YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW
Superset - Two exercises are performed consecutively without any rest.
Failure - That point in an exercise at which you have so fully fatigued your working muscles that they can no longer complete an additional repetition of a movement with strict biomechanics. You should always take your post-warm-up sets at least to the point of momentary muscular failure, and frequently past that point.
Rest-Pause - Do a set to failure. Rest for 5 to 10 seconds then do a few more reps with the same weight. Do this once or a few times depending on your energy levels and how far you wish to push. With this technique you can take a weight you can only do for a certain number of reps and increase that amount.
Drop Sets - Also known as strip sets, drop sets involve the immediate reduction of weight between sets with no rest. This will thoroughly burn out a muscle.
Add Sets - An add set is the reverse of a drop set in that as you progress the weight used increases with each set.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

"No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training... what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." - Socrates.

This best describes my love for bodybuilding. Only a very few understand what it's like to push yourself to limits you yourself didn't believe you had. Doing this lifestyle while attending school and work is very hard, but that in essence is what I love about it. How many people really understand what bodybuilders put themselves through physically and mentally? There are a lot of people who can have a long day, go home and eat a ton of fatty foods while relaxing. There are very few people whom can have a long day go pack on some weights and lift each rep as if their life depended on it.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

To me this lifestyle is an art. I truly want to sculpt myself into the best physique that I possibly can.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

To be honest life in general really inspires me to meet my goals. Not only do I want to be healthy I truly have a passion for fitness. For so many years it was a place for me to just blast my music and escape, I love it. This love for fitness makes me want to achieve the best physique I can obtain. I owe it to myself.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Locally Mark Bartram is a great fitness model to look up too. Kai Greene is one of my favorite bodybuilders I can respect his philosophy and think he brings something new to the sport. Of course Ronnie Coleman, his passion for bodybuilding really rubs off on everyone. Frank Zane and Arnold Schwarzenegger are great as well; they really made this sport into the opportunity that it is today so they are definitely some of my favorites.
