How Did You Get Started?

I have been playing football since the 6th grade. Once I started the 8th grade I began lifting weights to become stronger for football. High school football paved the road for my bodybuilding success. In high school we would have to do a lot of power lifts.

The heavy bench press squats, and dead lifts created a strong foundation for me. I played college football for a year in California. The strength training for that pushed me over the edge and helped create the mass I have today. I decided that I was done with football so I dropped 50 pounds to pursue a dream of mine which was competing in a bodybuilding show.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Throughout my football career we did a lot of heavy sets in a time span of 30 seconds and repeat. This worked great for me. The strict organization of 6 AM workouts in high school lifting along with the testosterone filled weight room really pushed me to lift my hardest. To get ready for my first show, I used the workout guide to Muscle and Fitness's "Rockhard Challenge" which worked really well for me. Now that it is the offseason, my week looks like this:

Day 5 - Arms:

Day 6 - Shoulders/Calves:

Day 7 - Off:

I perform cardio 30 minutes before each workout and I do abs every 3rd day. The workout I use can also be found in the book "Game Over The Final Showtime Cut Diet You'll Ever Need!" by Chuck Rudolph.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Although I am not too big on supplements, I have taken Kre-Alkalyn creatine in the past. I do not take any pre or post workout supplements.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because I am a competitor. For my first show, I had to drop 50 pounds to get the desired show time physique. I had no problem doing so. The diet is more important than the lifting in my eyes.

Also, it is just another part of the game. I love bodybuilding because there is no one to blame but yourself if you lose. When you win, you can say that it was because of all of the countless hours that you put into the gym. No one is going to lift the weights and watch my diet, except for me. It keeps me accountable.

Bodybuilding also helps prove that, well...if you win, that you are the best. No one can take that from you.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

There is nothing better for ones self than taking care of their body. That is why bodybuilding is so great. The number one thing about bodybuilding is taking care of your body. The bodybuilding lifestyle keeps me working out everyday and eating healthy.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

The most important thing that made me want to achieve my goals would be me being able to look back at all the people who said I was crazy for trying to become a bodybuilder, and being able to prove them wrong!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My future plans are to qualify for the USA Natural team and take things from there. My goal was achieved this past weekend, 9/19/09. I competed with the INBA/PNBA in their Team USA show. The INBA/PNBA in an all natural organization. I like competing with them because everyone is clean.

No one uses steroids, and that's how it should be. I was in the teenage division. I competed in the national show against teens from Florida, Illinois, and Texas. I won first place and was chosen to compete at the Natural Olympia, representing the USA! Natural Olympia will be hosted in Australia this year.

Also, in the Team USA show, I competed in the junior men's category. I received second place in this category. After competing in two all natural shows, I have won overall in the teen category twice; I took home the first place trophy in the novice tall category, second overall, and second in the junior men's division!! My future plans are to continue going to school, and continue working my hardest in the weight room. I plan on competing with the INBA/PNBA in their "Universe Natural Bodybuilding Championship".

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

My one tip to other bodybuilders would have to be to hold yourself accountable and push yourself as hard as you can, there will always be someone bigger and stronger than you but that doesn't mean that anyone should ever out work you.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Coming from Las Vegas, I have always followed and been a huge fan of 3 time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler!

What Features Do You Use On Bodybuilding.com?

When I am on Bodybuilding.com, I like to do research. You can never have enough knowledge. I like to read articles about people going through contest prep, this way I can learn a few new tricks. I also like going through the training and nutrition articles to learn more and get some new ideas.
