How Did You Get Started?
I started to lift weights to get stronger for the next wrestling season. I really started lifting too late in high school for wrestling. I enjoyed lifting so I stuck with it after high school even though I didn't have any reason to.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I started seeing real results when I started separating my workout into different days. When I started I did the same workout every time I was in the gym. I worked for 2 days and took a day off. It didn't take long to realize this plan wasn't going to get me anywhere.
I read up on the subject and talked to a lot of local bodybuilders, and then switched to a 5 day cycle. I started to log everything when I started my new program, but that started problems with my workout. It's good to track results, but I found that I was more concerned about simply lifting more than I did the time before.
I would get too relaxed if I did more than I did the last time, and this cut a lot of workouts short. So at this point my program was a simple outline of what order I would work out my muscle groups. I only recorded results every 4 rotations, and this has worked very well for me. After day five I either start again or take a day off depending on the first muscle is feeling.
Day 1 legs
Day 2 chest, arms
Day 3 shoulders
Day 4 back
Day 5 abs
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I have always had a very fast metabolism, so for me gettting as many calories as I can works very well.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I recently started taking a weight gainer called Muscle Juice 2544. This and weight gainers in general have always given me the greatest gains. No2, Creatine, and other supplements are nice to have but simply put it doesn't matter how hard you train, or what supplements you take if you don't give your body adequate nutrition it's impossible to grow.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because of the way you feel after a great workout, the presence you carry when you are in and out of the gym, and because of the disciplined lifestyle it requires.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan on taking bodybuilding as far as possible. I also plan on training others.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
The number one tip I would give any new bodybuilder is to be persistent. Depending on the person, you may have to go to the gym everyday for a couple of months before you see any real results. Another thing is that when you go looking for advice try to get it from someone with a similar body type.
Your genetics play a serious role in how your body will react to different kinds of training methods. Also you should always put the most energy towards your weakest points, symmetry is just as important as size.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Arnold and although not an actual bodybuilder Sly.
