How Did You Get Started?
I got started in bodybuilding through soccer. Yeah I know, interesting comparison right, well what happened was I injured myself playing Indoor soccer, at the time I was on a club team, had prospects of going to college for it, and also was given the opportunity to try-out for the Baltimore Blast (which was later taken away).
I tore some ligaments in my right knee as well as my left knee (I was a goalkeeper), and began rehab in the gym. Well once I picked up the weights, I never put them down, and that was half-way through my senior year in High School.
By the end of the school year I was the biggest kid in a highly populated school, which kept me going and going to get bigger and bigger. Eventually the time came to step back on the soccer field and I noticed I was too big to move the way I could before. I screwed up my shot at a College Showcase in VA. because I was a bit too muscular. After that, colleges were no longer interested, nor the Blast, so after high school I decided to keep up with Bodybuilding which brings me to where I am today, still liftin' with no plans on stopping.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
My workout plan is simple. The way I work out is much like that of Dorian Yates. I lift the heaviest weight I can handle, for 2 to 3 sets, as many reps as I can do until my last set when I go beyond failure. My training split is like this:
Monday: Bi's and Tri's
Tuesday: Abs and Cardio
Wednesday: Chest and Back
Thursday: Abs and Cardio
Friday: Shoulders and Legs
Saturday: Abs and Cardio
Sunday: Abs and cardio
This works very well for me so that I tear the hell out of my muscle fibers during the workout going beyond failure, and get ample rest between hardcore workout days to recoup.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
When I bulk, anything goes. As long as there is more protein than there is fat, I eat it. When I'm getting ready for contest I make sure to gradually lower my carb intake after 4pm.
For protein I eat chicken and ground beef, sometimes tuna, usually I'll just drink about 4-5 protein shakes a day and eat a lot of protein bars and MRP's.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
Simple, I love the way it makes me look, not to sound conceded, that's not how I want to come across. I simply mean that I love to see the outcome of my hard work and sacrifices. When you put your life into something, and focus on only one main goal, one objective, and you achieve that goal... there is no better feeling than self-satisfaction!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
My overall goal is to become the youngest Professional Bodybuilder in the IFBB, and with these genetics, and my stubbornness, no one on earth can tell me its not achievable.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Never quit and never say you can't. I can't tell you how many times I work out and puke my last protein shake all over the place. What do I do, I go get a trash can and finish my friggin' set until either I'm done or I pass out. Those are the only two options, failure is never an option! Keep that mentality and you will strive in all that you do.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Arnold for sure tops the list due to his perfection of bodybuilding as an art form; the posing, the look, the personality. Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler, hands down the two biggest Pros of the day, as a fan and a competitor. I love the size of the bodybuilders and strive to be that big, maybe even bigger someday.
