How Did You Get Started?
I have always lifted and strength trained for varsity wrestling. I got a personal trainer who was a previous Mr. NJ and Mr. East Coast and was always interested in his bodybuilding stories. Once wrestling finished, Nutrition and appearance remained of great importance to me always.
I was always lean with great definition, but had trouble putting on muscle. After I realized I was severely overtraining, I revamped my diet and workout plan simply to feel better. I started to put on mass in the process, so I decided to take off with that and see where it got me. Four months later put on 25-30lbs of quality lean mass.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I have tried three different slits and all have worked well for me (always rotating days off in and out but in a structured manner):
Split 1 (push/pull)
Split Two (opposite push/pull)
Split Three (one muscle group a day)
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Depends what my goals are:
Protein - 200 grams
Carbs- <400 grams
Fat- approx 100 grams
Protein - 300 grams
Carbs- 200 grams
Fat- 50 grams
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Food, Food, and more real Food!
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
This question could take forever to answer as most people know, but I will keep it short. Once you catch the bug you can't stop. Like most people I lived and breathed bodybuilding. This included visiting three different message boards at least 5 times a day as well as reading tons of articles from Bodybuilding.com all the time.
I love the lifting. The pump! The personal challenges each rep brings. I love the hardcore attitude you need to thrive in the gym. I also love the discipline that the diet requires be it bulking or cutting. And I love the results.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
My goal is to compete in a show by the time I graduate from college (in the next 3 years).
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Get your mental aspect in check first. Most guys can put on weight if they stay focused, but too often 99% of guys fail in the gym or in their diet after a very short amount of time. Control of your mind is key.
