How Did You Get Started?
Ever since I was 6 or so years old I've had a huge interest in sports and physical activities. Through my main sport of gymnastics I gained a respect and admiration for people who make an effort to strive for physical excellence. I started off working out in the gymnastics centre and slowly got hooked and working out became a round the clock action.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I stick to an extremely simple work out plan, targeting a select few areas during my work out. I am a firm believer that looks aren't everything and that the application of strength is just as important as how big you actually are. For this reason I use 'H.I.T', high intensity training where I do a small circuit, doing each exercise to failure.
An example of this circuit follows:
- Wide arm chin-ups (in front and behind the head) 16 alternating reps
- Normal chin-ups, 10 reps
- Reverse grip chin ups, I usually only make 5 of these
- Bent over rows, 10kg dumbbell, 10 reps each arm
- Tricep kickbacks, 6kg dumbbell, 7 reps each arm
- Lateral pulldown, 25kg weighting, 10 reps
- Dips using stool, 20 reps
- Bench press, 70 kg(on second rotation remove 10 kgs), 10 reps
I then repeat this immediately, with maximum of 15 seconds break between. I have recently gained a bench press and free weights which allow me to work out every day or whenever I want.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
In the past I have had the worst diet ever, and I would not promote myself as a nutritional example. But when aiming to be at peek strength I let my mum make all my dietary decisions, not that I always listen but I make an effort.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I haven't used any supplements as yet, they are, at this point, to expensive and it is part of my nature to want to be able to do everything on my own, however I couldn't maintain my training with out the support of my family and friends, so maybe this is a similar scenario.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it helps me to feel energized and as if I have accomplished something. Unlike academic progress, bodybuilding is something that is, if you are dedicated, constantly rewarding you for your hard work and you can see the results within a week.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I haven't got a clue, all I know is that I'm going to keep pushing myself until I'm forced to stop. My main goal is to exceed my own expectations of my strength boundaries.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
I'm no expert, but if you really love bodybuilding keep seeking out new ways to better yourself, find people around you with the same interest and get motivated!!!
