How Did You Get Started?

As a scrawny tree limb at the age of twelve, my dad thought it would be a good idea to get me into the gym for my thirteenth birthday. I had always loved hanging out with my dad and being able to workout with the "big" guys at the time, and was ecstatic to hear I got a membership to the local club. I started off like everyone with the small silver dumbbells and no weight on the barbell but eventually I have built myself up to become who I am today. Day after day and month after month that I see progress I am pulled into the gym more and more.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I really like to mix up my work out regimes to keep my body on its toes as well as my mind. Usually in the off season I tend to keep the weight high and reps lower, with a larger amount of workouts with little to no cardio. When I'm getting ready for a show, I like to lower the weight, and up the reps, as well as add cardio and abs.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

My nutrition plan isn't the strictest. Although I have cut the carbs pre-contest, I still did have some intense cheat meals. During the off season I could eat a whole loaf of French bread from the bakery. But about two months before contest, I cut the carbs. No pasta, no bread, no nothing! It was intense as I'm sure most of you have dealt with but it also is a great sense of accomplishment. I also love fruit. Having a large serving of fruit in the day is really good for me as it tends to curb my sweet tooth.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I have really fallen in love with Jack3d. It is such an amazing product and I truly believe that if it wasn't for USPlabs, I wouldn't be at the level of intensity I am at right now. Along with the pre-workout I have been taking fish oil twice daily as well as EAS Myoplex protein. That stuff is really tasty and it's pretty cheap too. But the most important supplement I have had is food: steak, salad, meat, etc.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Like I said earlier, it makes me bigger. But besides the fact of improving the outside of my body, it also benefits the interior. I'm not talking about keeping a healthy liver and immune system; it strengthens your mind. Having worked out for 6 years now, I can truly relate my courage and self-esteem, along with my indomitable stubbornness, to working out. I was once told I could do anything I wanted with my life, but now I believe it.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I want to live a healthy life and therefore prolong my life. My dad has always told me he is going to live to the tri-centennial and I've got to be there with him.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

Ever since I stepped foot in the gym, getting bigger and stronger were in my sights. My dad was a real encourager and helped me get started by correcting my form and guiding me down the right path. He alone is the true reason I am where I am today. Thank you Dad.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Memorial Day 2010 I completed my first and long waited for competition. It went well and I got third place out of the eight competitors. I was slightly disappointed in my placing but enjoyed hanging out with guys that were as dedicated as me. I do plan on competing in the future but I am also on track to become a doctor. So competing and working out in my future will be tough to make time for; it is not over yet. I always tell myself, "Bodybuilding is an ongoing process. It only stops when I want it too."

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't give up. Yes dieting is vicious and the cardio sucks, but put forth the effort you think you need to win!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My overall favorite has got to be my Dad. He doesn't always make it to the gym with me as he busts his ass working, but when he shows up, it's always good to have him there. Professionally I would have to say Flex Lewis and Hidetada Yamagishi. Both of these two guys seem like they were underdogs from where they came from and it took true courage and dedication to get where they are today.

What Features Do You Use On Bodybuilding.com?

The most often used feature I use is definitely the workout tracker. I enter in all my workouts and track my progress. I also like the forums. MISC BRAHS, What's up?
