Our Teen Bodybuilder of the Week was...
How Did You Get Started?
Since a young age I've always competed in sports year round, mainly football, basketball, track, baseball, and swim team. I've always made it a priority to look great and be in exceptional condition. I'm extremely competitive in everything.
I always pushed myself to out due all my friends, guys in the gym or anyone else for that matter. I strive to be bigger, faster, and stronger, have more definition, more vascularity, or just looking good, whatever it is I want to be the best at it.
At the end of my junior year, when I started taking lifting serious, I went from weighing 163 lbs to 212 lbs the end of summer my senior year.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I've always just done whatever the coach tells us to do. All football players have weights and conditioning class. We show up and they make us run and lift what they want. If we mess up, don't do a drill right, or slack they'll make us do it all over again until we get it right.
They weight program is usually like the Bigger Faster Stronger program (BFS). By far I have found that the BFS program has given the greatest gains.
It keeps the workouts "fresh" and every time I've completed a 5week BFS program I've seen significant results. At the end of the 5 weeks I'm always bigger, faster, and stronger!
Currently on a high rep program that looks like this:
Each workout ends with a variation of abs.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I don't really have a specific nutritional plan. Mine is pretty simple. Stay away from caffeine, junk, sweets, etc. and try to get a lot of carbs and 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. I take 2-3 protein shakes a day. Eat lots of chicken breast, tuna, hamburger, steak, pastas, all the good stuff.
When I'm in "training mode" I'll eat 2-3 raw eggs in the morning along with oatmeal and banana's. Hit the weights for bout an hour. Then have a protein bar with a protein shake. When I get home I immediately have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some milk. Hit the weights again for 1 1/2 hours. Eat 2-3 plain hamburgers with a can of corn and green beans. Top the night off with another protein shake.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Definitely MuscleTech NaNO Vapor
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love competition. I love looking great. I love winning!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I don't currently compete. As of now I just want to keep on bodybuilding, playing collegiate football, and pursing fitness modeling. In the 2007 football season we won the National Championship in the NJCAA, ending the season with a 12-0 record.
We have already started working very hard so that we can make a repeat in 2008. I'm currently working with Andrew Braun, a photographer and scout based out of Toronto, as I pursue Fitness Modeling and getting exposure.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Never Be Satisfied. Once you say something is "perfect" that's when you stop improving and that's when you get passed up. "The Best Can Always Get Better"-Tom Shaw
