How Did You Get Started?

I first got started in bodybuilding by working out with my dad in the basement once and a while. Then, about 3 years ago, I decided to get a membership to the gym here and try it out. I fell in love. It gave me something to do and it made me feel better about myself! Ever since then I haven't been able to stop!! Most of my friends are just into "getting big," but I have a love for all the aspects of bodybuilding, not just the feeling of getting big.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I've tried many workout schemes over the past couple of years but I've found one that has worked so I'm going to stick with it for a while. The plan is:

  • Mon: Chest and forearms
  • Tue: Back and abs
  • Wed: Bi's, Tri's, and forearms
  • Thu: Shoulders and abs
  • Fri: Legs and forearms
  • Sat: Abs
  • Sun: Rest
I also jog 15-20 minutes before breakfast everyday.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Like training routines, eating habits are constantly changing. I'm always trying to get about 1 gram per pound of bodyweight of protein and keep bad fats at a minimum. I don't eat red meat so I eat lots of chicken breasts and cans upon cans of tuna!! People think I'm crazy for eating like the exact same thing everyday and writing down what I eat, but I got used to it and probably wouldn't change a thing now!! I use to eat lots of white rice and other "bad" carbohydrate foods, so I just switched over to brown rice and things like oatmeal and other whole grain foods and it's made an incredible difference.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

As far as supplements go, I've tried lots of different Protein Powders and other supplements over the years. The first thing I ever used was Nitro-Tech and it was awesome. I always heard people talking about it and finally tried it. I tried it for about 2 months and definitely got my biggest gains while using it. It's expensive but worth a try if you have the money. My other favorite supplement is Bulgarian Tribulus. This boosted up my testosterone levels significantly and I saw massive strength increases while on it.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because it's a way of life. It gives me something productive to do everyday and it makes me feel better about myself. I just love the feeling I get when I'm in the gym striving to achieve goals and reach new heights? it's just such a thrill!!! I don't just look at it as getting bigger or getting stronger, those are just minor aspects of the whole thing. I also love the feeling of that "good" pain you get while working out and within the next few days after. If your sore, you know you did something right!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

As for future plans, I am really hoping to be able to compete in the near future, just to get some experience. It won't matter if I finish last, I just want to try it out!! I know I have a long way to go but I'm willing to give it my all and try my best to achieve all my goals. I've overcome a serious injury to the tendons in my left elbow so I feel if I can keep going after that, I can do anything I put my mind too!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

As for advice for other bodybuilders, "don't stop!!" A lot of people will start bodybuilding and then hit a bump in the road and quit. You can't do that. You got to keep going and someday you will overcome any obstacle that gets in your way!! Also, don't let anyone tell you can't so something. If you want to bench 200 pounds for 6 reps, do it, or at least try it. Don't let some big gym bully tell you that you can't do it, because you can, if you put your mind to it!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite bodybuilders are for one, the obvious choice, Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the king of bodybuilding. He has just done so much for the world of bodybuilding, it's impossible not to appreciate him!! Secondly, Lee Priest!! I love Lee because he gives us little guys some hope that we too can make it in this sport!!! I also love Ronnie Coleman. He just brings such an edge to the bodybuilding world and makes everybody else strive harder to try and beat him. Plus, his movie, "The Unbelievable," is awesome!! "Lightweight...yeah buddy!!"
