How Did You Get Started?

My senior year of high school I didn't play a fall sport so I started to lift to stay active and gain a little size. I've been addicted ever since.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

    Monday: Chest, Calves
    Tuesday: Biceps, Triceps, Forearms, Abs
    Wednesday: Legs Thursday: Shoulders, Abs
    Friday: Back, Traps, Calves

I do cardio 5-6 times a week and have rugby practice. I work main muscle groups once a week and other muscle groups that recover quickly 2-3 times a week (abs, calves).

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I try to eat 2g of protein per lb. that I weigh. I keep my carbs moderate unless I’m cutting, which I am right now, then take in very little carbs. I’m not too concerned with fat intake but try to keep it down. I eat very little processed food and try to stick mainly to meat, veggies, fruit, and a lot of dairy products like cottage cheese and eggs. I also drink about 8-10 glasses of water a day.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Initially I gained around 30-35 lbs while taking Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein, and Creatine. I have added BCAA's, Glutamine, Flax Oil, Fish Oil, Glucosamine Sulfate (for joints), Multivitamin’s, and ZMA. I have also tried many different brands of NO2 which give good pumps, but I’m not sure if I will be taking anymore. Protein and Creatine are my favorites and have showed the most gains for me.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding is my passion. It is great for setting goals and achieving them, whether for size or strength. It is also one of the only sports you can do your whole life. You have to be committed to bodybuilding to have the intensity for pushing past barriers, and be strict with training and nutrition. The sport has also taught me about the body and how it works.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan on competing in the 2005 INBF Wisconsin Championships in Madison Wisconsin on April 16th. I am currently dieting for the contest and plan on being a middleweight. Other plans are to keep getting bigger which will hopefully help my bodybuilding and rugby performance.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Stick with it. Bodybuilding is easy to give up after a couple of weeks if you don't see results. Try not to worry, after a couple days, weeks, and then months you will definitely see results. Make sure you get your diet down as well; it is just as important as lifting. And don’t overtrain!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Fellow Wisconsinite Art Atwood is my favorite. I also like Jonny Jackson and of course, Arnold.
