How Did You Get Started?
I played football and wrestled growing up and throughout highschool I was all league defensive end in football and a sectional champ in wrestling. I always lifted weights for those sports and was a fan of bodybuilding but couldn't compete due to the time needn't to play those sports.
I was lifting weights at home since I can remember and it was always something I enjoyed. So I decided my freshman year of college to focus 100% on bodybuilding and decided to compete in my first show.
With the help of my nutritionist Justin Harris (troponinnutrion.com) and online trainer Dante Trudel (Doggcrapp) I won the 2006 NPC Atlantic States teen overall. I then went on to compete in the light heavy weight class of the teen nationals where I placed 3rd.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I use Doggcrapp training which is a lower volume, higher frequency of bodyparts hit. I'm currently on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday advanced split.
*Friday being a repeat of Monday's bodypart
- Monday: Biceps, Forearms, Back Width, Back Thickness
- Tuesday: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
- Thursday: Calves, Hamstrings, Quads
- Friday: Biceps, Forearms, Back Width, Back Thickness
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
When preparing for a show I cycle my carbs and keep my protein very high to help me lose bodyfat and stay full throughout my diet.
When trying to add muscle I still cycle my carbs having higher carb days on the days I train a bigger bodypart such as legs and back and lower carb days on days where I train a smaller bodypart. I aim for about 2 grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight in the off-season.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
Bodybuilding is a great sport that when done properly can give you positive results in all aspects of life. Eating 6 times a day going to the gym everyday makes you plan out your day and helps you set goals.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan to keep improving on my physique and compete in the Collegiate Nationals.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Be Patient. Everyone has to start somewhere, don't be discouraged by your progress and be realistic with what you can accomplish. We all have different strengths when it comes to our bodies. Highlight those strengths and work to improve your weaknesses.
