Thank you for taking the time to learn more about PureFit nutrition bars, who is behind PureFit, and why we believe we are the best
40.30.30 bar on the market. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Robb Dorf. I grew up in Sylvania, Ohio, and started long-distance running at age 12. I was humbled very early on, because in high school, I competed against two of America’s greatest distance runners, Bob Kennedy and Todd Williams. After one year at Bowling Green State University, I transferred to Arizona State, and ran all four years there, competing in both track and cross-country. I have a personal best time of 32:46 for 10 kilometers. I graduated in 1991 with a BS in Exercise Physiology.
Immediately following graduation, I moved to Southern California, where I immersed myself into the sport of duathlon. During that
time, I worked at PR*Bar, a nutrition bar company that was at the forefront of the 40.30.30 nutrition revolution. In 1997, I qualified
for the World Duathlon Championships for men, ages 25-29. Unfortunately, I was really burned out from over 17 years of racing
and training, and quietly disappeared from the scene, never competing for the United States. One year later, I completely blew my
left knee out from over-training for a marathon, and was forced to take up walking and yoga. I also moved to Orange County to get
away from the run-bike-swim scene of San Diego.
During that time, I became very disgruntled with the nutrition industry, primarily nutrition bar companies. Nutrition bars were not
only a staple in every almost athlete's regime, they were becoming mainstream. Everyone was eating them. Simply put, most bars are nothing more than a candy bar with protein powder added. Some of these commonly
used ingredients that are still used today include:

Recently, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA,) ruled that companies using hydrogenated oils would have to display a warning label on their packaging stating that hydrogenated oils have been linked to coronary heart disease.
