What happens if my credit card or debit card is declined?
Your bank or credit card company may have a security setting in place which blocks purchases from Bodybuilding.com or online. Call your bank or credit card company for assistance in having this block removed.
If your credit card/debit is declined, our shopping cart will let you know immediately. Once you click submit, the authorization is sent to Chase Paymentech. If it is approved, you will get an order number and a receipt. If it is declined, you will get a message letting you know so you can try again or contact your credit/debit card company.
Your credit or debit card may be denied for one or more of the following reasons:
Over your spending limit.
Wrong card number entered.
Name on card not correct.
Billing address does not match what your credit card company has on file.
Internet charges are not authorized for your credit card account.
Your new credit card has not been activated.
Blocked for possible fraud.
Other: Call your bank. They will have a record of the decline and the reason.
Bodybuilding.com is not notified of the reason behind a declined card. Most of the time the decline is caused by customers entering in the wrong expiration date or CV2 Security Code. Once you fix the issue with your card or if you choose to use a different card or payment method, simply try again and re-submit your order.
If you continue having problems submitting a credit or debit card payment try another method of payment. We offer the following additional payment methods: PayPal, Bank Wire Transfer, Western Union, or Money Order.
