Guggulsterones are derived from a plant called commiphora wightii, otherwise known as Guggul.

Guggul is a plant grown primarily in India, and it exudes a resinous sap out of incisions that are made in its bark. This resin has been used for centuries as part of India's traditional medicine called Ayurveda. Today, this resinous sap is processed and purified to isolate the Z and E guggulsterones in the plant.

Guggulsterones commonly come in a low-potency yellow powder or high-potency brown powder, and are primarily used to support a healthy metabolism and skin complexion.*
