1) measure and pour in the water first, 2) turn on the mixer, creating the tornado, and 3) pour (not dump) the powder/mix in the center of the tornado.

When cleaning it, be sure to use hot water, and turn on the mixer to ensure the spinner is clean underneath. This step needs to be taken every time after use. Real easy and everything tastes better when mixed instead of shaken.
