Give me your proof on it increasing estrogen levels.

I've heard the same things. I think there is research to back the claim that soy has pro-estrogenic properties. In fact, I think even the companies who sell it use that as a selling point.

Soy isoflavones are recommended for women.

I don't remember the exact research but I believe that ON SWOLL STATUS may be correct.

Every source I've heard warns against soy because of its estrogenic properties...every source, that is, except for one: www.proteinfactory.com is the lone voice of dissent, defending soy.

Whey is the best form of protein powder followed by egg, beef, vegetable then SOY!!!

Thats a bit of a vague statement; whey concentrate (lactulbumin) has the same BV as whole egg. Fish comes above beef and chicken is somewhere around the same as beef. Whole milk protein also scores pretty high (above all meats) and casein is also above soy.

Whole milk- is this the same a skimmed milk or low fat milk??

By Danny on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 04:05 pm: Edit

Sorry - bad wording. All (cow) milk has the same protein and carb content regardless of fat content. What I actually meant was the whole protein of milk which is 80% casein and 20% whey. Many people refer to milk protein as just casein, I'm going from memory here but I think the BV of milk is about 88 and casein is about 77.
