I never read the bodybuilding/nutrition experts said about taking amino acid supplements; Protein powder (esp. Whey) is number one issue. Some said that amino acid pills is very unnatural, can't be absorbed normally.
And it's very expensive too.
Since amino acid is the building blocks of protein including the famous Whey protein, is it worth to take amino acids supplement ?

it is worth it to get an amino acid suppliment. they are not expensive at all. get GNC's AMINOGEN!! you can get 1 bottle of 90 tablets( which is a 3 month supply) for 19.99 or get 2 bottles for 29.99. it is definatly worth the money and isnt expensive at all. hope i helped. also if you buy it on gold card day( the first tueday of the month) then you get 20% off if you buy a gold card( which is only 15 and i would recommend getting).

certain amino acid's are worth getting...im not sure about aminogen though, its susposed to increase absorbtion. As for the amino acid's worth investing, they inclunde: glutamine- enhances immunity, combats catabolism, raises gh levels, arginine: raises gh levels, taurine: helps to combat catabolism and is the 2nd most abundant amino in the free pool (behind glutamine), and l-tyrosine: helps combat fatigue when coming off of an eca stack
hope i've helped

NO, you don't need an amino acid supplement, unless, you NEED it, or are a person who has to supplement with a certain individual one. Some people will supplement with one or two for health reasons. People use Leucine to help lower blood sugar, or stabalize it. So they would supplement with lets say, 500mg-1500mg per day. Now the only way to get this dosage is through the supplement, or loads of protein. They won't need the protein, so they will supplement with it. Look at your protein, and for example: Prolabs 100% pure whey contains these Aminos per 100g of protein.

TYPICAL AMINO ACID PROFILE
L-Alanine: 4.8g
L-Arginine: 2.3g
L-Aspartic Acid: 10.2g
L-Cystine: 1.2g
L-Glutamic Acid: 17.2g
L-Glycine: 2.0g
L-Histidine: 1.6g
L-Isoleucine: 8.4g
L-Leucine (BCAA): 10.5g
L-Isoleucine (BCAA): 8.4g
L-Valine (BCAA): 6.0g
L-Lysine: 9.1g
L-Threonine: 6.2g
L-Methionine: 1.6g
L-Phenylalanine: 3.1g
L-Tryptophan (naturally occurring): 2.1g
L-Tyrosine: 2.4g
L-Serine: 5.2g
L-Proline: 6.1g

Look how high those numbers are! Now, you will get alot more since most of us consume over 100g of protein. Don't waste your $$ on Tablets. You get more than enough from protein....

Now, If you need one for a certain health issue, it is different. I mean look, 10.5g of leucine in 100g of protein. That would be hell of expensive to supplement with pills. Like I said it is for people who NEED aminos, and arent protein freaks like us.... L-glutamine is one for example that isn't found in all proteins. Unless it is added. But then, you still need 10-20g a day for it to be effective, and should take it on an empty stomach....

Thanks for all the infos, guys ...

Well, I want to take the amino pills cause I often forget or sometimes lazy to take the "additional high protein food" between meals (we must eat small/moderate meals every 2-3 hours right ?) it's easy to get complex carbs food in my office but not with protein .... so I think I could place that amino pills in my office .. :-)

Any addition ?

I suggest by taking aminos you will benefit
more ways then one. Not only it helps building
muscles, but alot health factor's aminos is good
overall. Also not expensive at all, body building.com has there own product of aminos & there stuff works well. Not saying it is for
everybody, but its ALL GOOD for me!
