Hi all, been reading some older posts about carbs and protein. It seems that the 2:1 ratio seems to be the consensus. I currently drink the Iso Pure Protien drink (40 grams whey isolate) and Twinlabs UltraFuel (100 grams of carbs) about 20 minutes after my weight training (right after my cardio). I am wondering do I drink the carbs first, then the protein or both at the same time. I also take a post workout drink that has some creatine and other good stuff in it. I have order a case of the Iso Pure Pure Carbs which is supposed to have 80 grams of carbs. I workout each bodypart one day a week and really bomb it. I am 5' 10" and 300#. I have been training since July and have not gained or lost a pound but my clothes are a lot loser and I can see the changes in my body so I must be doing something right. I also just read about a substance called CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). It is supposed to be a great supplement that works to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass. It works especially well in decreasing fat in the abdominal area and is an antioxidant as well. I will let you know how it goes.
Would appreciate any comments on above.
Thanks,
hut
PS I am trying to start a mailing list on weightlift and bodybuilding. Everyone is welcome. The mailing list will allow member to ask questions and share information by e-mail. Your questions or comments will be sent out to all members of the group and they can then respond. You can choose to get individual e-mails, a daily digest (which is sent out once a day that contains all posts), or just read the posts on the web. I started the group through e-groups, which is a free service and works very well. I belong to other groups dealing with fish keeping and my F150 and have learned a lot from my being on the list. The group is unmoderated which means the messages go right to all group members. I want to keep it this way unless we get a lot of profanity or post about steroids. I would prefer that we not have these kinds of posts.
The address to subscribe is http://www.egroups.com/group/weightlifting-bodybuilding
Please subscribe if interested. The more people we have on the list, the better the list will be. If you subscribe, you can send a post introducing yourself if you like and tell us where you are at in your training. I am no expert, just someone who loves to lift and also loves to learn and that what I hope this list will be about. If you have other questions or concerns, please drop me an e-mail at africanhut@cisnet.com
