Bulk as long as it takes to get the mass, a diet always impairs gains. Bulk to about the body fat percentage you need to get comfortable growth and try to stay around that as you go for 30 lbs. This will take you at least 6 months if you are good, if not it may take up to 3 years. Just stay with it, and remember that no matter how little you put on, if you put it on you are gaining

THANKS BIG CAT

one more Q please you said more than 3 years hehe thats to long i wish that i can get it within 2 years max.what do you mean by good you mean my training and nutrition or my genetics ?

By Big Cat on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 09:06 pm: Edit

Both, but screw genetics. if you are thinking about them, you're going nowhere. Set your mind and stick to it. Don't let genetics fool you, if you do that you'll never reach full potential. No by good I mean that you know what you are doing. Nutrition and sleep, and all out training effort to match it. Training should be efficient and consistent. If you've managed to gain a lot in the past, you most likely will again, if not, it may be time to search for the most effective way of training.
I said three years as a maximum, if you don't cut up in the mean time and just keep bulking, two years should serve you fine.

BIG CAT, you seem like the smartest guy here, and I need your advice. I started lifting only about 1 month ago, and am making some fairly decent gains so far, but I have a question about caloric intake and muscle gain. From what I have been reading on the boards, most of the guys say you need to consume 4000-6000 calories a day while bulking up.

I'm 34 years old, 6', 225lbs, and probably 25lbs of that is FAT. I don't want to put on more FAT. Considering this, if I just keep my protein intake up around 200-300grams/day or so, can I still pack on the muscle without eating all the extra calories? Will my body pull from the fat stores I have for the extra calories for now? I'm also planning to try your 1-AD/4-AD 6 week stack... Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

About cals, I seem to do fine right about 4500 and I'm 6'1 230 right about now. But you have to have in the right ratios too. If I eat 4500 cals of junk, I will get fat. Fat stores will not be used unless your consuming less calories than your burning and in that case you will not put on any muscle. Unfortunetly you can't put on muscle if you caloric intake is too low. But overrall if you train raight, eat correctly most of the cals will used in muscle recovery and not in storing fat tissue. Its inevitable too put on a little fat while bulking but you won't blow up like a balloon if thats what your worried about. You should stay around 4000-4500. I can't imagine trying to comsume 6000 a day. Ugh! As for starting a prohormone cycle thats usuallly recommended for advanced bodybuilders who really no what they're doing. You should first really read up on it, see if its worth the extra money (since 1AD is extremely expensive) and figure if its worth the extra $. Ultimetly the choice is yours but you should get familiar with the principles of using prohormones. As a beginner that only started 1 month ago I would just stick to the basics. And Cats not the smartest one unless he names his stack Bobodinol. My 2 cents...

I'd still eat the amount of calories you need, but as long as you are gaining something, even fat, you are taking in enough calories. What you can do to stop gaining more fat is decrease the carbs and increase the fat. Instead of eating a standard 50% carbs, 35 % protein and 15% fat, you can try a 40-40-20 or even a 35-45-20 Instead.

Bobodinol ? You would really want to push that ? Now at least I know you aren't the smartest guy around here bobo, we actually have to sell this stuff too.

By bobo (128.175.251.234) on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 12:57 am: Edit

Hey it rolls of the tongue. With the marketing scheme you create it will be the generic, steroid like supplement that has the same ingredients at those major brands do. Save money now and go with Bobodinol! No?

By Big Cat HH (Bigcatmod) (213.224.83.174) on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 01:09 am: Edit

uummmm ... no. But I bet you can picth it to other companies, maybe some companies that have a quality you can represente, like Bobo-tech or Bobavar.

By bobo (128.175.251.166) on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 04:48 am: Edit

It would make a lot of money, but then again I don't want that kind of rep. Back to the drawing board...

Bobo-tech? What am I a generic robotics company? And Bobavar sounds too much like Babar the elephant.

What kind of rep ? The kind that lets everyone know you can help them pack on the pounds ?

Babar, that's what i'll call you from now on. Its cute :)

Listen Leo....My name already has a shitty story behind it, don't make it worse by calling me that... :)

Oh and about the rep, I though you were referring to the cpmany who produces Decavar. That type of rep. And I'm not Babar damnit! :)
