I just started using creatine two days ago, so I am in my loading phase and I am taking 20g in 5g portions thoughout the day (morning/before lunch/post-workout/before bed). I have also started taking GNC Pro Performance Whey Protein, 3 shakes a day (morning/post-workout/before bed). However, I've been experiencing some pretty annoying side effects including : stomach cramps, an abnormal amount of gas and I'm not sleepy at night and do not sleep well at all. Has anybody else experienced any of these ? Is it caused by the protein or the creatine ? What can I change in my routine to make these things go away ? Any advice is appreciated !

its the GNC protein, that stuff is crap! because it is poorly manufactured, your body has a crappy time digesting it. The gas and intestinal cramps are the result of that. get a better protein.
anything by AST, ProLab or EAS

creatine causes major stomach problems, I would use some form of effervescent creatine or even ribose c. These are designed alittile better.

People when taking creatine it is good idea to drink lots of water, like a gallon a day. I know it seems lots, but it keeps you hydrated and your kidneys flushed. If you research it, you'll find creatine helps "hydrate your muscles" which causes water retention in them. SO take lower doses more times a day and forget about that loading shXX. Most of that goes down the toilet anyway cause your body can't absorb that much at once. And finally its best to cycle all supplements it prevents your body from adapting to them. Good Luck and Lift Hard!!!
