I have recently bought the now brand creatine monohydrate from the advice of an olympic weightlifter who holds 25 world bench press records. He has told me to take 1 Tbsp of liquid amino and 1tsp of creatine before I workout. But what I want to know is how much creatine should I take a day and if grape juice is the best to take creatine with and if so how many ounces of grapejuice. PLEASE RESPOND THANK YOU

well i would say about 5 tsp of creatine a day...but 10 after a workout. i think grape juice is good to take with creatine, people ahve mixed opinions but i think it's fine. u r going to need about 8-10 oz's to disolve 5-10 tsp's of creatine, hope this helped.

well i'm not sure about that. but ur not going to have to worry about that unless u take it more than once a day. as far as taking it bedore a workout...i havent really had a so called "energy-boost" but maybe some do. u could easily get a good boost from other foods naturally. when u start to see gains with ur creatine it isbecause the creatine has been absorebed by ur muscles and taking it before a workout will just make the muscles fully absorb the creatine. but the creaint should all be in ur muscles in about a week anyway, and of course it could be sooner, the more often u take it, but i dont think there is really any reason to load on it. it puts alot of strain on ur liver and since ur body can only hold so much creatine, ur body is going to find some way of getting rid of it anyway. hope this helped, later man

Creatine will be ok since it is found naturally in meat. And to the above post, you won't lose muscle or shrink if you stop taking it...

I believe the best times for creatine absortion would be when the uptake from blood stream to muscles is the highest (duh!@self). So with this in mind there are certain times of the day that would be best. The first would be in the morning, your choice before of after cardio. Mixed with approximate amounts of dextrose (say 15-20grams)or glass of OJ to spike insulin. Then half an hour later take another Glass of OJ or Dextrose again. I read a report on the bodybuilding.com that the absortion really starts to happen half an hour after consumption(hence the re-spiked ins half hour later). The second time would be within 20 - 45 mins post workout. Same procedure as with the morning schedule. And thaats all ah ave to sayz bout thaaat!.
peace n love

6-10 weeks on until your gains stop, then stay off for 4 weeks to let the receptors upgrade again.

I'm taking creatine and branched amino acids. I work out 5 days a week. should i take both the creatine and amino acids 7 days a week, or just take them on the days I work out?
| By Big Cat HH (Bigcatmod) (213.224.83.78) on Tuesday, September 04, 2001 - 04:17 pm: Edit |

I usually mix my creatine with grape juice in the morning because I have a commute from work at 3:30 to 4:30. So i take the creatine at 4:10 on the bus so that I can work out as soon as I get home. I have a very busy schedule. I heard that if you don't drink the mix 10-15 minutes after you mix it, that it becomes useless. Is this correct?
| By Big Cat HH (Bigcatmod) (213.224.83.102) on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 - 04:59 am: Edit |
No, it starts to become useless. It doesn't become entirely useless for 3 weeks, but if you want maximum benefit of your creatine you want to drink it withing 15 minutes of mixing it.

I can't beleive some of the shit i am reading in here..........hey, some of you guys really need to do some more research BEFORE you take these supplements! no disrespect intended, just that before you ingest something into your body, you should really check it out 100%. And by the way, you could take 20 MG's of creatine before afteryour workout, what ever, and all you would actually absorb into your muscle cells would only be MAX two grams of it. your boday can only absorb so much of what you give it at a time. and that is all you really need on a daily basis .hope that helps some of you save some money. rich

Actually its around 0.05 grams per pound of bodyweight meaning its near 7-10 grams for most people. In the beginning its even higher, sometimes as high as 0.25 grams per pound, but will then decrease over the course of a few days. Which is why we load with higher doses than we maintain. Perhaps you should read some more research yourself.
But you made a very good point, before starting on anything you have to make sure you know and understand all the facts, and when in doubt consult someone you trust who would know these things.

Take this, take that, take it now, take it then. You can ask 100 different people the question of what, when, how and how much to take of anything. The truth of the matter is this. Ask around and get an answer from the majority of which supplements are better than others as far as quality goes. However, if it will give you the same results as it did others is up to your system. You have to use your information and choose that wisely from the majority of answers and experiment with your own self to see if you will get the results you are looking for. For bulking read about products that increase mass and strength, for cutting read about products that boost energy and burn fat and do cardio.
At the end of the day it's like this. What works for others may not work for you, when others take supplements might not fit your schedule. So choose wisely and experiment.
Good luck to all
