Hey-I am looking for a supplement that does a few things...something simple, but I don't want to get huge and bulky, I am a 16 year old soccer player who lifts a lot more than the average soccer player, its pretty much my second sport, I am looking for a supplement that will make me thick, but really hard and cut (I am looking to get bigger upper body, lower body too, but mostly upper). I have no clue what would be good for getting big (but not bulky remember) and cut really good, got any suggestions? I have heard maybe just eating a protein bar after I lift or something? Thanks to anyone who writes back, I read this stuff all the time on these boards, people who write back are awesome for doing it! Thanks!

At your age EAT, EAT and EAT some more, 6 meals a day and 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight , if you follow this at your age you will grow like a weed.

A protein bar after you lift? better to have a protein shake with about 50 grams of protein, 50 grams of carbs, and 15 grams of fat and lots of vitamins and minerals. The most important meal youo can have is the one after your workout.
Also, the supplement you are looking for, being that you are 16, is creatine. Thats all you need. and like mike said, EAT, EAT, and EAT some more.
Good Luck

Nah, you don't want to take creatine until you're at least 18. At 16, you're better off with a lean gainer.

i like what mike said about eating- you definetly need to EAT and EAT a lot...at your age your body will take care of itself. what i would suggest is along with all your food and protein- make sure that you're sticking with basic movements on your weight training...bench, squat, curls, press, etc... if you're training cardio-wise like a soccer player usually does then i dont think it necessary to be too specific in your weight training. your young and exercise will take care of your getting cut- the mass (thickness ) will come from your basic movements. target different parts of your muscles but keep the movements basic.and like they all said keep eating and take in 1 gr/ per lb. of a quality protein-and drink water like it's going out of style! that post-workout meal should be considerably higher in carbs then your others- thats why its so important.

Yup, you need to eat. Playing soccer you burn alot of calories, and are probably able to eat whatever you want without gaining a pound. In this case, you need to eat. I would reccomend you buy a good weight gainer (prolab's n-large II) and a good protein powder (prolab 5lb whey). Make sure you are eating 6 meals aday. I would do 3 whole food meals, and 3 meals from the weight gainer and protein powder. Make sure to pretty much gorge yourself with good food after working out. I would drink the weight gainer right afterwards, then eat a real meal an hour after that. Since you are just starting, you dont need creatine yet, although it certainly wouldnt hurt, but right now get your diet and training on course first. As for training, 3-4 days a week, train each muscle once per week, and keep your weigh sessions under 50 minutes.

Does anyone think eating 3 meals and gulping down 6 shakes a day is too much. I've been doing this for a while and it's helping alot with my gains, but some guys from my gym say it isn't healthy to get that much protein from supplements. I haven't felt any Ill effects from this so I'm not sure what to do. Your comments would be greatly appreciated Thanks JOHNNYBOO

no, thats perfectly fine. Protein from supplements, protein from food, at the end of the day (and to your liver and kidneys) it's still protein,.

Hi, I weigh 163, and I am 6'1''. I workout 4x a week, and workout in repitions of 6, with 4 sets for each exercise. I am looking to get bigger, but stay cut and thin. I only do cardio twice a week, and I am afraid that going on weight gainer will just give me a gut. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some good supplements I should take to aid me in my quest. Thank you so much for your time.

Lean Gainer (this stuff even has 5g/serving of creatine in it) or Lean Gainer 2, both are from Interactive Nutrition and would be a good choice. If you live in that States you may have a hard time finding since it's a Canadian company.
