David if you want to get bigger, your first priority should be to eat more right?
So remember that when you eat more calories than you spend you are getting bigger. What you should do then is:
a) Try to eat 5-6 good nutritional meals every day. You are not saying what you eat, but let me guess that you are not eating more than 3 times per day. So increase your meals, and try to eat every 3 hours. Every meal should being consisted of protein+carbs+fat. So for every meal, you should eat a medium portion of protein (chicken breasts, turkey breasts, egg whites, tuna, extra lean ground beef), a big portion of carbs (rice, baked potatoes, pasta), and a moderate amount of fat (from vegetable oil is the best source).
Always try with at least two meals of the day to add some dietary fiber on your diet, in order for you to be able to digest better the food you will eat. Just pick up any vegetable salad that you like.

b)Cease any other sport activity that you have
Remember as l said at the beginning that in order to gain weight, you have to eat more calories than the ones you spend, right? So get focused ONLY on bodybuilding as your only sport activity.

c)Try to lift heavy. By using the word "heavy" l don't mean to go and lift as heavy as possible, because that would be very risky and you could get injured very easily. But try using a moderate speed on your reps (something like 2 sec up and 2 sec down, don't bounce the weight up and down without having a very good form). 5-8 reps can help you a lot.

d)Do not do many sets every time you hit the gym. You should not do more than 8-10 sets for big muscle groups (chest/back/shoulders/legs), and no more than 4-6 sets for smaller (biceps/triceps/calves).

e)You should have been finished your weight training in less than an hour. The natural growth hormone that we have, starts increasing after 5 min of weight training, but it starts declining also very rapidly after 35-40 min of training, so as you understand is very counterproductive if you train for more than an hour.

f)Always eat immediately after your weight training. Remember that the biggest meal of the day should be the one after your weight training.
So try to eat 1 1/2 more quantity of your normal food since your body at that time starts entering in a catabolic stage and the only thing you can do in order to prevent this, is to eat more.

g)most people try to avoid carbs at night because they can very easily stored as fat. So at your case do the opposite. Try your last two meals of the day to contain a big amount of carbs, since at that time you can not spend them for energy.

h)And last but not least, if you are more than 16 years old you can take also 1-2 meals of the day through the form of a good Whey protein powder.
lts also more convenient to you since you won't have to spend your whole day in the kitchen and also its very boring to eat again and again the same foods. So if we suppose that you can eat 5 times per day, eat three regular foods that l told you (breafkast=cereals or oatmeal with whole fat milk and 4-5 egg whites with one whole egg, lunch=rice or pasta or baked potatoes WITH chicken breasts or beef or tuna, and add also olive oil, -make your own combination-
and the dinner should be almost the same with the lunch, just change the carbs and the protein in order not to eat the same all day), DRINK also 2 protein shakes, one in the middle of the day, and one more dose before you go to sleep.

Just follow my advices david and you will have a better body soon.

Hi I'd like to get thick in my legs....and thighs...as I'm reading these
posts, I'm assuming that if I go to the weight room and just straight
work on my legs and eat weight gain powder, that I'll see some results?
What should I do? Thanks in advance....
