Watch "Stay Hungry" w/ Arnold, it is a classic fixer upper guide to buying and repairing gyms guest starring Bob Villa.

If you are planning on starting and owning a
gym of your own...I would hope you have some
kind of business degree...or business background'
in management...it sounds easier than it really
is...but there is more background-behind-the-scene
things that go on besides showing up and opening
the door for the general public.

I'm sure you understood that...just stating a
fact in case you didn't...

You'll hopefully be taking over an established
business, which has due paying members...it's
easier to take over a business then drum up
new business...unless it's a franchise like
say a "GOLDS" or "POWERHOUSE" gym where the
name can draw business.

You have to have a very good site that is easy
to access and in a good location....

It really takes some long hours to start from
scratch and you will have some prep time prior
to opening things to accomplish.

Alot of people, including a friend of mine worked
for a gym and learned all the background work
before even deciding to venture into something
as risky as a gym can be...unless your the only
gym within say a 50 mile radius.

Let me tell you one thing for sure....you will
put in some hours...especially if your just
starting out from scratch...alot of headaches...
A good friend of mine thought this is what he
really wanted to do until he did it....just working for a gym is one thing, but day to day
management is another...you'll need dependable
people who know what they are doing...to help
run your business...little things that make a
gym successful are important when first starting
out.

I wish I could let you talk to my friend...but
try and talk to someone who owns a gym to get
some scoop....Good luck to ya
